A must for California rolls (maki-zushi).
The only thing that really troubles me is figuring out what to do with the pit.

grow it! remove all the edible guck, poke three toothpicks (not too deeply) into opposite sides of the pit and balance it using the toothpicks on the rim of a glass. fill the glass with water so the bottom of the pit is just submerged. wait!

So you can effectively grow a new avocado?
Sort of recycling in a way. I like that idea.

that is one cool avocado! specifically, the hat, skateboard, and shoelaces set him apart from regular un-hip avocados.

yeah it totally works! once you start seeing roots form on the bottom of the pit you're supposed to plant it in a pot. but i never got quite that far. i had a crazy aunt who had lots of cats and several of these things growing.

Oh I see, so basically you just germinate the seed in the water and then plant it. I'll have to try that some day. :D

Agreed , avocado is the shit!
My two favorites is in a greek sallad with olives and feta cheese or as a starter with sourcreme (or creme fraiche) and caviar with some fine diced onion on top.
