[spam] something completely different

I've put a little bit of violin on my website; here is a short sample. I'm
posting this partially to see people's reactions, partially
thinking that some people may actually enjoy it, and
partially because of an obligation to my past. or something.
Ok fine I admit it, winter break boredom strikes again.

it should be homoerotic. This proves to me that leaving
spam is exactly as I expected--awful. Not because no one is
leaving messages (given the nature of the music, that's
expected), but because of all the other shit that goes in
your head as if I was leaving real electronic spam. You
want just criticism, but you want compliments, you know
there's no reason to listen but want attention.. basically
it's all weird, and I feel weird when I leave comments for
others. It becomes some big jerk-off circle. Maybe if I
knew people's music here better and left electronic I would
have a more business like approach, for instance I've seen
people leave spam then log off for a day and bump, avoiding
the place so that they don't peddle the thread.

Sorry I IMed Monoid for that blurp, I thought he'd say
something interesting. blame him in his thread.

no no I didn't write the stuff, though I modified some of
it.. it's me playing the violin, but there's some of my
piano playing separately on the page.

I'll put up some compositions some day.. that would of
course belong here much more

I wonder if I can explode the internet by writing 'some' too
many times in one post? I hope so.

spam really sucks, but if you 'know' the user who posts it i
guess it is ok, but if you join this mb just to spam it then
fuck off, of couse this does pertain to you mr sneak

sorry should been more clear; when it's violin and piano, I
am the violinist. for the files which are JUST piano, it's
me.

thanks for listening! I hope people get some enjoyment out
of it. If you like the stuff maybe check out the program
and track down recordings of these pieces.. I think people
liking avant-garde electronica could easily enjoy (old)
classical.

no I know what you mean.. and like I said I fucked it by
posting something I didn't even write! But I'm pretty
protective of my violin playing (hahaha gay way to write
'insecure'), maybe that's it.

It's very fun though to listen and see if the music matches
the person you've grown to know, just like if their face
matches what you expected.. but I'm stating the obvious now
and this thread is 90% my posts so..

"and now for something completely different"?

do you like Monthy Pythons Flying Circus?
i quote this phrase in everyday life. They rocked.

concerning gluck/kreisler, which i've downloaded - a
touching thing. I studied violin sometimes, but forgot
everything. So its sounds are nostalgic for me..

from you matus!

Soothing, relaxing and it made sweet love/sex to my ear

nice =) . Kreisler transcribed it from Gluck's opera orfeo;
I used a bunch of transcriptions because I like 'old style'
recitals.. but anyway

epohs baaaaaaaaaah you're a smart dude if i've lived
a day.. thanks for listening!

ha ha ha thanks =) that's one reason I posted it, I thought
people would get a real kick out of it for that particular
reason =)

In the Chausson Poeme clips (here's one, here's another)
I do some acrobatics, if anyone wants to hear something a
little bit more energetic. you can hear my aggression in
those pretty clearly.

these mp3s are slightly suck because the original wavs are a
minidisc randomly in the audience (in someone's coat, in
fact), then I made ogg vorbis files.. then I made mp3s from
those.. so yeah, sorry

wow, apparently you're really, really great at violin!
neat.

do you still play it? you should write music with it.
genesis p-orridge used to play electric violin when he was
in throbbing gristle.

Thanks =)

I do want to get an electric violin some day! Other than
all the effects shit I could do, I can practice anywhere
with some headphones. See the problem is that I play
FUCKING loud, and also my violin is expensive so carrying it
around I have to be super protective.. right now at school,
with a roommate, I don't have anywhere good to practice so
my skills are getting a little fucked =(

I've written some small stuff.. I don't know if I'll ever
write a big 'classical' composition for it (though I have
for classes), but I may incorporate it into some electronic
shit..

damn I'm sitting in this thread like a mother

yeah, but you don't suck - your practicing loudly would be
great to other people. they would probably like it a lot.
or just go outside or something.

and as for writing music - just make whatever sounds with it
you like - don't worry about sitting down and writing some
huge composition. that's what i would do...

thanks for the kind words, glad you enjoyed; check the
Chausson if you can =) I've written a 3 minute piece for
piano, and a few violin cadenzas. I don't have a strong
harmonic background.. I'm simply not creative with harmony.
It's lame. But yeah I'll hone it some day.

I like the piano one at the bottom of the page, and the
poeme bits, raucous, impressive, moving and arousing.

Going back to what the erudite mrgypsum said, always a sage
droplet can be found collecting 'neath his sac, music is
better if you "know" the author/performer and I believe
that's what's missing from so much music today, especially
electronic: Personality. Young Mr Sneak has personality,
plus brains, a foul mouth and, I dare say, spunk, and I, for
one, hope to hear more from this swaggering, erudite
bruiser.

Perhaps practise somewhere out doors. Try different
locations. A subway station, a park. So on and so forth, let
your atmospheric surroundings be your guide!

thanks for listening, and good day to you =) and to all the
kind words, shit, way more than I deserve. I'll have
something legitimate up some day, a composition, but it'll
be minimum 6 months..

when I write something electronic, I'll make my own sofware
for it, so it'll take a lot of prep for the first one..

i dont either, and if i know you from here, i would have no
problem listening to it, i just hate it when some lurker
here constantly posts his or her music and thats it. its
like, oh heres an audience, all come listen to my crap (if
its crap, which most of the time it is) im sure most people
that post here are musicians and they have stuff, but they
dont constantly post it here for everyone to listen to, it
just gets a little trying on my patience.

You're a fucking renaissance man , ha ha ha. Gluck is very
very good. I'd have the same problem here, as far as playing
loud (that is, if I knew how to play any instruments). I'd
like to do weird microphone stuff but it'd be rather
embarrassing with someone hearing behind the wall. I've
still only heard that one so far but would totally like a cd
of this, whenever I can overcome heidi diller memes and
listen to it. Real instruments have so much subtle
detail/quality... actually that one chemical plant/sonic
track emulated such quality pretty well when you look at the
tones an octave lower. I know a lot of megaman tracks have
tones that start normal but then sort of fluctuate up and
down somehow at the end.. I'm not sure if it's volume or
pitch changing, probably just the former, but it sounds
really similar to professional non sucky singing. I know you
can probably easily convert something like this to bits
somehow and mutate it in twisted ways like crunch etc. but
it's already really cool.
