Well, we've got analord coming out soon...and maybe just
maybe a nin record coming out soon...the website says its
done but you know how long it takes for a nin album to
surface...

anyway do you think maybe RDJ and Trent might hook up and do
a few shows together?

did aphex ever say that he'd like to?

i seem to remember trent expressing interest (although that
could've been like 8 years ago), but i don't really know of
aphex doing so.

of course, i don't know that i'd ever trust anything that i
heard about aphex. his skills of disinformation are
magnificent.

yea. i dunno, he did that remix or maybe sent out random
track for further down the bunghole. there was interest but
i dunno.

He said he'd like to,but only if they'd do just two songs, 5
minutes tops, with ticketprices of £399 a piece.

First time I heard 'cuisinart' I thought it was QUIZONOUGHT,
some strange alien DREADNOUGHT, and holy fuck was it badass.
You need non-sequiturs like this to make life enjoyable.

Could you place answer affirmatively that you like speedball
2, super nashwan, etc. thank you.

I played another game of theirs, a shooter, and you could
pick up 'super nashwan power', which was a full upgrade.
what a stupid name/inside joke.

i very much doubt it'd happen, but jesus, if it did, it'd be
the greatest show evar.

although, i'm not as much of a angsty nin fan as i was some
years ago, but it would still kick ass.

eh, i still enjoy the fragile and some bits of still. mind
you, how whiny he really is, is quite evident to me now, but
he's still a brilliant musician imho.

of course he didn't answer you, that forum is just there to
hype up the release. notice all the fucking questions about
the re-released downward spiral and if other releases are
going to be re-released...and all that other nonsense. its
about as real as santa.

isn't it possible that they chose the questions that they
wanted to answer and that's what's on the page? that's what
i thought this was... why wouldn't he answer questions
about his new releases?

i mean, why would anyone go through all the effort of making
up fake people who write fan paragraphs and nonsense like
that? it is real question and answers. it's just that you
have a rock star answering what he wants to answer. what's
so strange about that?

if you didn't like them when you were 15 or 16, it'll be
much harder to get into nin now.

his music is pretty nice, his lyrics and how he presents
himself is a livejournal personified.

I'm not very fond of the livejournal cultus, as you may have
noticed.

that could be quite true, mr. Shope.. for I was exactly the
age of 16 when I started listening to him.

yes, I was even boiling with rage and resentment when I
listened to "pretty hate machine". then I moved on and mr.
Reznor wouldn't come along for the ride.

yeah, nin pretty much defined that period of my angry little
life, so i'll always have a blackend soft spot in my heart
for NIN.

but, his lyrics definately don't speak to me the same
anymore. although, i popped in broken the other day and was
surprised at how good it sounded after all that time.

i listened to nirvana exclusivly at the time i was 16 so i
don't know any other other bands/artists in that time :)

i think the lyrics for the fragile were his most clumsy and
hard to listen to.

the broken lyrics aren't that bad, and the tds
lyrics don't bother me that much at all. they just feel a
little more sincere, probably because i was much more angsty
when i first got into them. the lyrics on the fragile seem
quite forced... like a multimillionaire cult superstar
rolled out of his silk sheet covered bed with three
beautiful women in it, stumbled downstairs into his own
personal cutting edge recording studio in his bedroom
slippers, and tried to sound like his life is still
miserable.

offline r40f from qrters tea party on 2005-01-02 10:29 [#01442328]
Points: 14210 Status: Regular

maybe i haven't been paying enough attention, but i didn't
find the lyrics to be forced... i know he's a rich and
famous rock star, but it's possible that he's angry about
stuff... i'll admit that there were a couple lousy songs on
fragile (starfuckers)...

i just think the guy writes good songs. if you want to call
the music that a thirty-something man makes "teen angst" i
suspect you're really talking about your own experience.

you want him to make heavy, grating, dark songs about his
new effects processors and his money? let him say what he
wants to say... lyrics in rock music aren't necessarily
that important anyway.
