lo I have a beta 1 (very first mixdown) of a new track in the works and feel compelled to darken your bulletin board with links to it ......... Usually i download a demo just to have a laugh. They all, every single one, sound like complete amateuristic shit with no feel for proper mixing bad sound quality bad sound design etc etc etc etc and i can tell from the tiny little speakers built into my computer monitor. Now your song is different! It's good! I put it in my daw listened through my mytek dac into good amp and speakers, and it's great :) Amazing that you've made this in your little bedroo mstudio (just saw the pics) And i mean all of it, overal mix, sound design, rhythm, effects, except maybe final song layout but you say it's still in beta. Can't really think of any bad things. Perhaps i would like the song more if it had more sounds, in the direction of orbital orb fsol (don't mean beats) it could make it more special imho. Also sound like there's more than enough roo for it in the mix. But this is my personal preference and if you like it minimal np. Just out of synth curiosity, what synth and effects did you use for the synth part? |

cheers for the props lurker - yeah overall arrangement and basically some smaples and fx sounds (I keep trying to think of some vocal based stuff - maybe record something and then graincloud into something nice - dunno yet) its all actually vst this one - lots of reaktor (most of the nice rythm parts) then lots of absynth for the pads basically (and some fx send in reaktor aswell) i'll up it again in beta 2 or finished .. ta |

btw - I'm also not sure on the its all shite comment meself - I know some great producers who post here occassionally (od, wisp etc and they shit on my stuff from a great height imho - but then its all just opinion really - but that doesnt mean I dont appreciate yours - heh) |

Absynth again :) that's one cool vst BTW maybe the all else is shit comment doesn't apply to this forum haven't downloaded many demo's from here, maybe 20, and don't come here that often. Was actually looking if anybody received analord yet hmz Graincloud is a granular thing? I was hearing vocals too but more something in for instance eastern in the style i described before. Don't like the granular thing much myself except boc, but boc is boc. It also inmho makes it more difficult for your music to stand out from the rest then, so many people into process everything to death with puter right now. But don't listen to me anymore cos i'm starting to get a bit tipsy hehe Happy new year everybody! |
