What do you guys use to get rid of all that surface dust
that causes minor pops and crackles? Also do you use
something different for getting out that random crap thats
stuck in the grooves, you know the stuff that isn't really
loose but its caked on somehow.

I have a canister of Gruv Glide. It comes with an applicator
pad. Works well

to get rid of dust i ueually just use a clean shirt, rubbing
it in i acircular motion, probably clock wise

i bought some liquid stuff down at my local record
store...the old guy working there said he home makes it, he
also gave me a super soft bit of cloth and demonstrated how
to clean the record in a circular motion. I think its just
isopropanol and distilled water.

i've never found a cleaning system that did anything but
increase surface noise (cleaning fluid and soft lint free
cloth or specialized brush). i use compressed air to clean
before playing and am very careful about exposure to dust,
etc. however the fact that vinyl is frequently charged with
static means that it will suck up whatever's in the air.
better to learn to appreciate the random sizzle and
crackle...

Moth MK2 Record Cleaner. Pricey (over £300), but the best
I've used. I've not got one, but a mate has and I use his
occassionally.
