they quoted her completely wrong, "it is a very special
evening tonight becos this is OUR last show ever."
she is known to switch her live band up on her tours, i
wouldn't worry too much. she seems to like playing live too
much to quit.

um, that's what she actually said, not "This is the last
show I will ever play."

i don't really know about this, but my hunch is that nme is
not a very credible source in the first place and this is
not the first time they've twisted words.

i hope you're right..it is a bit weird she'd quit just like
that, especially after so many gigs in the last half year or
so...

here are some replies to a thread in pjharvey-france.net's
message board (the show was in paris).

Celitatae - "Never believe anything you read in the NME.

They did the same kind of thing for Placebo in 2001 after
they played the last show of the black market music tour.
They wrote the band was breaking up and that it was the end.
Which of course was wrong as well with one of the member of
the band who quickly posted a message in the (now dead)
official forum of the band.

The NME love to play with the words, and just change 1 or 2
words to change the whole meaning of the sentence. Basically
Placebo said "we take a break" and NME wrote "we break up".

Pj said 'it is our last show ever' and NME wrote 'This is
the last show I will ever play'.

Nothing to add. "

or paul69denton's reply - "THIS WAS A JOKE !!!!
I mean, it was absolutely not serious. She said "tonight is
a very special night... It is our last show... (everybody
screamed) ever !", but is was totally for fun. Everybody
laughed, she laughed. There is no doubt about this. NME are
complete jerks."

No worries here.
