Confirmed guests are DMX Crew & DJ Russell somthing (haven't
got info on me)... Still unsure whether Aphex is gonna be
Djing or playing live...I guess it'll be a bit of both (hope
so...)...

I'll be there with an old mate who needs some cheering
up...she's hasn't heard much Aphex so she's in for a bit of
a suprise!!! :)...

pOgo...tickets are sold out...but if you check ebay.co.uk
out, there's still a couple going on there but you'll have
to be quick and be able to meet the guy up to collect your
ticket...

the gigs on wednesday evening so you haven't got much time
left....

Still unsure about what to do after it's finished; I'll be
buggered for getting home so I guess it's gonna be one of
those wander the streets in search of advertures night
again...anyone got any plans??...

30031676

On ebay.co.uk you can get a ticket for £15 (same as
normal)... check the above link...

IF you can meet the guy in Central London...

hasn't got any bids yet...and only 20hrs to go...

Def worth a try if you are interested in going & can get to
the guy in time...

does anyone know much about Astoria (the venue)

any ideas if there are lockers or something available so i
could lock up me camera once ive taken some photos?

offline jand from Braintree (United Kingdom) on 2002-02-04 16:38 [#00079573]
Points: 5975 Status: Moderator | Show recordbag

Russell Haswell is the DJ guy...

Don't know about lockers etc... I know they don't allow
Video Cameras or Recording devices but I would have thought
a Camera would be fine...

But I don't know about lockers...you could try ringing
them...there website is www.meanfiddler.com/astoria
but I couldn't find anything about the facilities (aprt from
the fact it's got 3 bars...)...

i will be there YYAYYYAYAYAYAY!!!!!

astoria doesn't have lockers but it does have 2 cloakrooms,
and i would suggest taking disposable cameras cos you are
right, your camera will get caned. they have 3 bars, 2 in
the main hall and 1 upstairs which will probably be closed,
my advice is to get drinks at the cheap wetherspoons pub on
charring x road rather than paying astoria prices (the
prices aren't too bad but if you are there till 2 you will
probably go through 30 squids) if you are fussy have a nice
big shit before you go in cos the bogs are the toilets are
a shitty mess and full of gay graffiti and clartstains

after the concert i would suggest going home and letting
your fragile ears recover cos it is usually quite a loud
venue (a lot louder than nesh).

if there is more you want to know just stretch the thread

c'ya in 13 hours, jingle

b.t.w. i don't have anything against gay people or taggers
or gay taggers but when you are off your nut and you read
some that shit it makes you think strange things, especially
the ones like "meet you here 9:00 wednesdays for some rough
spunk shooting and brown-mouthing" and stuff and then you
look at your watch and your bang on time and the guy taking
a piss next to you isn't actually pissing and he looks like
a scarred-up lou reed and he is probably staring at your
winky and then you see brown stains on his teeth as he
smiles at you and you cry... :(

sorry, jingle

I'm a huge fan of his but RDJ set @ NME(Astoria) was one of
the dullest i've ever heard(nice Sony Vaio laptop, anyway!)

It was fantastic and also confusing, that's what was so
great about it!
Half the people there couldn't tell when it was Aphex and
when it wasn't, which was very funny!
The whole thing was like being smacked in the face by a
constant stream of the most lovely and brutal (at the same
time) sounds and beats you can imagine.
Every so often something familiar would creep in to the
backgroung then dissappear again.
Bloody brilliant! Totally excilerating (if i could spell
it).
Shame about the £2.80 for a CAN of beer, but at least i
smuggled in a small bottle of vodka down my pants...

Sorry mate, i still believe that the first 30 mins. of RDJ
set were worse than being at Ministry Of Sound.....
