Yeah...
Its actually quite affordable at 500$ Canadian, and it sounds nice. Patches kinda look difficult to edit though...
My gf and I were playing with the vocoder this moring. Fun!!

good shit!
I kind of want one myself, but I also want a real analogue one.. however, the real analogue ones costs too fucking much!

Yeah... if I could afford an analogue synth, I would prolly be more likely to get a nord lead3 and an MPC...
Or one of those neat controllers that are two beams of light... that is some neat shit...
But this is good for now. And it has a vocoder, that sounds 100X better than most of the vocoding software I have used!!!

microkorgs are pretty cool, I guess... decent enough sounds and the vocoder feature is nice.. the bottomline for me though is that the keys are useless for ever actually trying to play anything. I guess I'm actually a keyboard player and not a "synthesist" or something.

I hate non-hammerweighted keys. But with that microkorg I would probably just do pads or midi control it through a sequencer.

yeah, I had that problem too when I tried it at the store.. doesn't stop me from wanting it, though...
taxidermist: yeah, those light-thingies are neat.. and the airfx or whatever it's called.. those spheres you hover your hand over to change fx-parametres...
Also, the Korg Legacy... that small thing where you actually have to wire the routing of the envelopes with the wires!

i love nonweighted keys as long as the action and response in them is smooth and springy, but not too springry. It's easier to play the fast shit that I like without the weights slowing me down, though I love the feel of weighted keys too. The only things I can't deal with are mini-keys.

the nord lead isn't an analogue synth. it's a VA. wich means Virtual Analogue. it's basicly a computer.

Yes minikeys suck. I would rather but a midi keyboard with no knobs and then a knob based midi controller than having a mini all in one jobby.

Yeah, I know... but with the cost of a vintage analogue synthesizer you can afford much more newer-model stuff with a comparable sound. Plus the flexability of the digital medium gives you added benefits.
Honestly, I am a sound designer, not a keyboardist, so the smaller, non weighted keys are perfect for me. Plus I need to do all this siznit on a budget, so the price was ideal.

sounds like you got just what you needed. :) I remember when I got my first synth (well, my first working one I should say), and it's a great feeling. I hope you have thousands of hours of fun with that thing, like I have with mine. :]
