RIP Glassjaw

From TMT:

*RIP Glassjaw! - Glassjaw has officially called it quits.
Glassjaw was brilliant, innovative, and didn't give a shit
at all about how they were perceived or thought of. In
short, they were punk as fuck. They were more true to
themselves than just about anyone I have ever met and I for
one will miss them a great deal. I don't think they were
ever even half way understood by most who heard them. I
still don't think I fully ever understood them. They thought
about art, music, culture and the world around them on a
different plane. They were one of those bands you either
loved or hated, either way they demanded a reaction out of
you.

info

*flies over to the GJ boards

this is mannys response on a different board:

"I'm waiting for a call back, but we did not break up.

Daryl is not doing so well. It's something that has always
been a factor in this band. If he's sick, we don't play. The
kid's health is more important then anything. We've never
given him shit for being sick, because we can't. That would
be extremely insensitive. It's no one's fault. They had to
cut short a Head Automatica tour because of his health, and
he hasn't fully recovered yet.

I'm sure the shows will be rescheduled. We haven't been
rehearsing for nothing.

As soon as I have more info, I'll post. Although I'm sure it
will also be explained on the official site. It usually is
explained on there when there's been a cancellation."

I did a little research meself and came up with this from
another board.......posted by Manny:

The little R.I.P. glassjaw thing is not to be taken
seriously. Someone has a sick sense of humor, and I don't
think anything is going to change it.

The shows will be rescheduled. Daryl's doctor told him that
if he played shows that soon, that he would get a lot worse.

Not telling the set list because we still may use it for the
rescheduled shows.

The news is also still very new. We're all scrambling right
now to work it out, hence the little message on
glassjaw.com. All will be better explained shortly.

You guys will get to see us dancing around like idiots soon
enough.

Did I mention that we're a jazz trio now?
