Its that the stuff that sounds like four tet, or the stuff
that sounds like crunch, or the stuff that sounds like
shadow warriors?

Honestly, I really think this whole name thing is really
stupid... bliphop is a name thought up to sell a compilation
series. Considering it a genre like glitch is kinda like
considering valentines day like halloween.

blip hop = four tet and co
click hop = crunch
glitch hop = shadow warriors

ive got this release and some other blip hop compilations with
similar artists..

i wouldn't say any of it sounds like four tet. four tet
sounds way better..

yeh,all those names nowdays give me a headache...it's
supposed to be hip hop with glitches...atleast i think so.

krunch is something else...arovane and phonem, the AER album
is pretty good description of it.

what do you think...the apropa't and manana sessions were
quite spheric...imo

so,what do you think...is he blip hop?

maybe he's just another visionary in the instrumental hip
hop sphere.

I'm a big fan of genre names, if anyone can believe that,
but 'blip hop'? Come on, this is absurd. That would
encompass a whole, what, one artist? On one day of his
career? What's the difference between that and glitch hop?

Buy some glitch, it will have hip hoppy elements most likely
and then you can label it blip hop. :)

offline stilaktive from a place on 2004-12-12 13:18 [#01423286]

yeah its pop-hop and blip-micro-house and thats it.

Hmmmm :D

I think its a bit of a lame label, really, it seems to me to
be describing electronic music influenced by hip hop, or
perhaps vice versa - so I guess he is. I've heard him coined
as glitch-hop before, I guess he has a kinda glitchy sound
sometimes. To be honest I think these type of artists are so
diverse that a particular label can only be applied to a
handful of them at a time :) Like all the '-core's in rock
etc.

I can guarentee you that Pole and Saftey Scissors are
awesome!

heh.... I was kinda making fun of the whole name thing...
please don't take my analysis as gospel truth. Unless your
an impresionable 15 year old girl with a couple drinks in
her head. If you are, I have a camera, and really think you
should become a model. Then I can invite you over to my
appartment, so I can show you how to get into the modeling
industry.

14 would work too. Just not 13, cause thats illegal here.

I take everything on the internet as truth because as you
can see I am indeed a 15 year old girl. but what do you
mean by drinks in my head, do you mean like dr. pepper?
becuz that gets me soooo ++yp3R!! :p

virgin: I do like Pole.. although blip hop was certainly
never a classification that came to mind. safety scissors I
have heard only very selected tracks of.. what does it sound
like? (don't say blip hop, haha)

Its more ambient glitch with dub influences. Or if you
prefer, microdub with minimal undertones.

safety scissors and pole isn't blip hop dude...it's minimal

that's what I thought. Pole is dub as far as I know. As
for Safety Scissors, it sounded like that minimal glitch
stuff. Although I'm probably placing it there because it
was grouped in with all those other California glitch people
like Sutekh, twerk, and Kit clayton in an issue of xlr8r a
couple years ago.
