seriously, i think you should buy something fun for yourself. then invest the rest of it in some stocks and/or bonds, and forget you have it for 10 years or so. depending on how much you have, you may want to talk with someone who knows about investing. There are so fucking many options it's crazy. Some things are high interest, but you're penalized if you take your money out early. That would be bad if you ran into tough times and needed to get at the fundage. other things are really accessable (savings accounts, money markets, etc..) but are pretty low interest. if we're talking a sizable chunk of change, you probably would want to get advice from someone who knows their business, and make the most of it. |
