on these songs...
crn marth yellow calx fingerbib 4 logon rock witch girl/boy song (and all the mixes) and many others
Seem to have a complex array of strange beats, they are really good, thats what makes them classics, but, how did he make them ?
I have known AFX for about a year (friendship) and he still wont tell me how he made thoughs fantastic beat arrays in these songs.
can anyone guess what he does on these ???

Actually I think sine707 is right. I've noticed if I repeat some samples very fast together with some mild tweaks I can get some Aphexish stuff. Kinda like the stuff on PEEK.

hmm.. when i use a piano roll and turn "snap to grid" off so u can get teh samples right next to each other so they're even overlapping sort of.. and maybe u get the effect in 4?

He takes varios "same sounding beats" and splices them together, sometimes over lapping the time patterns. Gets pretty crazy beats like that. Either that or he sits there and programs it all like that step by step.

ya overlapping rythms can make some pretty cool beats, to bad fruity loops distorts so much when u have more than a few samples going at the same time
although sometimes the distortion is good, adds a cool effect to the music
..if only we could learn to harness its power.. haha
