TekN010G from Australia on 2001-05-13 08:21 [#00006242]

What are your views/opinions about Orbital?

[REFLEX] from Western Canada on 2001-05-13 09:10 [#00006244]

Orbital.. hmmm I believe that Orbital is great music! I
enjoy listening to them. Sure it may be a little
"mainstream" or whatever ive heard some of you call it on
here... but I enjoy it lots.. them I mean. Especially
InSides and The "Green Album". I own pretty much all their
shit.. and they are good. Layers.. many layers, within their
style.

Springymajig from New Zealand (www.mp3.com/aureus) on 2001-05-13 09:40 [#00006247]

Their my favourite band (duo) and I can't get enough of
Snivillisation, best album ever along with Ae's LP5. I can't
say the green album is that great, but the brown one is
really good (both are dance albums). Sniv and In Sides could
easily be called IDM. "P.E.T.R.O.L"!!!!!!!!! One of the best
songs ever made!!!! "Are We Here?" and "Kein Trink Wasser"
as well!!!

www.loopz.co.uk------> Official website, VERY good, check it
out!

[REFLEX] from Western Canada on 2001-05-13 09:55 [#00006251]

Yap..... Orbital is awsome.. my favourite song they have is
"Adnans" Awomse shit.. creepy intro.. there.. woah.. just
great.

Netlon Sentinel from beyond on 2001-05-13 10:21 [#00006257]

i only know the box. but it's one of my all time favs. i
never got around to actually listen to an entire cd.
yep, i'm from the mtv generation ;)

po{e} from the uk on 2001-05-13 11:42 [#00006263]

dont get me started about orbital........

i cant get enough of it.

seieng them live on the 18th :), snivilisation is great, i
love i wish i had ducks feet.

my best album has got to be the brown album.

Reflex, layes is definitley right, u start listening to it
and a few minutes later you realize that there is like 8
things going on at the same time and it sounds marvellous.

RECYCLE from lincoln,ne on 2001-05-14 02:20 [#00006300]

orbital are wonderful.......
i love the "in sides" album w/ the 40-50 minute additoonal
cd which contains 4 remixes of "the box"

[REFLEX] from Western Canada on 2001-05-14 05:15 [#00006307]

Where can I get that 40-50 min thing on InSides or whatever?
Someone hook me up!

RECYCLE from lincoln,ne on 2001-05-15 01:28 [#00006396]

time fly (slow) 7:58min

[REFLEX] from Western Canada on 2001-05-15 01:31 [#00006400]

really!? nUTZZ... can someone here give it to me? I have a
FTp server and know of others.. heheh.

Springymajig from New Zealand (www.mp3.com/aureus) on 2001-05-15 05:33 [#00006428]

Attached actually takes about 4 minutes before the all the
layers are there, the vocals come in a min after the 3
minute build up.

Yeah, I'd definitely say Orbital make multilayered music.

I also really want to buy that version of in sides. But I
want to BUY it.

Poo.

Wizard MaC from Amersfoort on 2001-05-15 15:24 [#00006484]

I've just bought their newest album (The Altogether) and
some songs are really good (meltdown and funny break for
example), but some others sound a bit cheap (tootled for
example).

TekN010G from Australia on 2001-05-15 23:49 [#00006531]

I like "I don't know you people" off of that album

Orbital where to come to the hultsfred festival in 2001, but
they cancelled, and since then I?ve hated them. I didn?t
really like them before either.

Yeah, Orbital are great without a doubt.

Interesting fact is that they worked with Mike Parandinas
(u-Ziq) on Lunatic Harness. If you read the small print, it
says the usual "thanks to..." and at the end it has ..."Phil
and Paul Hartnoll."

support them on tour once...hence the Thanx.

I like quite a bit of Orbital. In Sides is the classic :)

I have Middle of nowhere, got it cause a friend said it was
good, it's alright...nothing fantastic...but pretty good...i
like falling asleep to it....he...but yeah...sounds like
there's room for improvement (green, or brown whatever
albums)...so who knows...no real opinion.

my eternal gratitude for making an album like insides. my
fave album ever, no doubt about it.

everybody seems to prefer insides to snivilisation... is
snivilisation no as good?

offline DaWeeze from WANTED IN 16 STATES! on 2003-01-11 12:22 [#00510768]
Points: 5213 Status: Addict

Of course not. But Snivilisation is a more "leftfield"
effort by Orbital, probably not what people who have more
"mainstream" ideas have about them (as with Brown (dancy)
and InSides (soundtrack-like)) would want to hear.

But by no means that it's a lesser album...

(O)
