Part of the beauty of electronic music is the lack of lyrics
I reckon. There are exceptions though.

i voted both but woofer its a boring question, maybe you
should've asked;

do you like aphex twin singing?

Did Phobiazero have stern words with you about making the
polls serious again, Woofer?

either way is good..

offline mimi on 2004-11-25 05:31 [#01405145]
Points: 5721 Status: Regular

it depends on the lyrics and the singer...if they suck, then
they should leave 'em out.

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2004-11-25 05:33 [#01405147]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

and if the lyrics and singer are superb and music sucks
that's good?

if the music sucks, it should be acapella, duh! :)

offline mimi on 2004-11-25 05:34 [#01405151]

but seriously, does that ever happen?

Points: 50073 Status: Moderator | Followup to mimi: #01405151

you mean if it ever happens that the music part gets left
out? :)

offline mimi on 2004-11-25 05:38 [#01405156]
Points: 5721 Status: Regular | Followup to tolstoyed: #01405155

well what i mean is that it doesn't usually happen that the
lyrics and voice are good but the music doesn't fit it or
something.

offline tolstoyed from the ocean on 2004-11-25 05:42 [#01405161]
Points: 50073 Status: Moderator

hmm, i can't think of an example right now, but surely there
must be some...maybe if the music is too cheesy or
something..

broadcast may fit that..

Points: 5721 Status: Regular | Followup to tolstoyed: #01405161

probably occasionally someone screws up the music part only
badly enough; just that i'd imagine it's more common to
screw it by, say, letting your girlfriend sing over your
track because you don't want to hurt her feelings and tell
her that she's tone deaf.

definitely!

if there are lyrics and they are good: great
if there are not lyrics and the mucis alone is good: great

lyrics or not lyrics, I dont care as long as it is good

i prefer without, thank you

offline mrgypsum on 2004-11-25 06:04 [#01405172]

i think this is a good question, tracks with vocals are
structured differently than with track with vocals. so the
music is very different, and i vote without, i get into the
song more, classical music does the same thing to me.

offline WooferAttack from Milano (Italy) on 2004-11-25 07:05 [#01405186]
Points: 12920 Status: Lurker

i voted both, 'cos normally i prefer without lyrics, but
tracks as 'rakimou' by plaid are really goods.

anyway my favs voices are "robotic voices"... i love them.

humanoid must not escape by CW, UT1-Dot by PW, but
especially boogie down brox (remixed by Gescom) and Scorpio
by Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five (remixed by Plaid -
track9 - parts in the post) are lovely!

yeah, i was listening to it through last night and this
morning...some songs are real good, although i wish if the
whole thing would be a bit more varied. that's exactly the
same problem with every artist on merck label imo.
