"Post-rock"

Instrumental music, with guitars and shit.

Music really did grind to a halt in 1997.

pretty, chill instrumental guitar music...beautiful.

don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but a
bunch of their music was just used for the soundtrack to
"friday night lights". i haven't seen the film.

think mogwai, but prettier...more uplifting, less downcast.

Yeah, they don't really sound like GY!BE at all. They're
more rock-guitary and not as epic and stuff.

more pleasant and a bit dumbed down. very good for a come
down or when totally stoned.

They are excellent, but there isn't the force you get with
GYBE, there isn't the same restraint that give GYBE's tracks
the impact.

I love The Only Moment We Were Alone from Earth Is Not A
Cold Dead Place. I think I prefer Those Who Tell The Truth
Shall Die, the last two tracks are fucking amazing.

Godspeed.... strange eh?

brief synopsis of all three:
mogwai, their older stuff is very good, very moody and dark,
but their last release...is not so good, it was sort of
uplifting which if you listen to mogwai, is kind of a
downer

gybe, gybe is gybe they are in a league of their own, i cant
compare them to anyone, i saw them live, it literally blew
me away, they sound like an airplane crashing down from the
heavens, only beautiful

explosions, are completely different, they mainly focus on
guitars in their tracks, but its different, kind of chilled
out and repetive, but like ambient and atmospheric, i have
both of their albums, although they get a bit boring, its
great chill out music.

my fav out of the 3 is godspeed...they are in a league of
their own.

I'm not too keen on that album apart from track 1, hunted by
a freak, which owns. How kind of them putting the cubase
parts on the CD? I tried to remix it but it sounded
shocking.
