even though experience tells me that spamming more than one
track at the same time is the same as asking for no
feedback, but I'll still do it...

BCG

Lick

Straight - more of a "beat." Kind of repetitive, and
needs vocals, but it's got scratching.. the first song I
managed to record scratch to after I got my mixer, and the
only one with scratch I've finished.

any feedback is appreciated.

well, straight is hard, 'cause I need someone to rap, and I
don't know any rappers... if anyone thinks they are up to
it, they're welcome to try!

your melodies are dope man! reminded me of boc alot

In BCG I it would be sweet if you made the piano sound as
real as possible, same with the drums. What program do you
use?

and do u use midi? it kind of sounds like u do for the
melody

I liked BCG the best, u should take the scratching from
straight and put it in that!

thanks!

I use Acid for sequencing and sometimes Reason for synthing
(but I export to acid).. however, on all of these songs, the
melodies and everything is directly from my synth, so it's
me playing everything... except for the drums, which I
obviously programmed.. I don't think reason has had anything
to do with any of those songs.

the thing with bcg was that for some reason I had mapped the
pitch bend to one of the faders on my synth, and I had set
it to some position which isn't really on any tempered
scale, and I recorded the piano later, and had to feel my
way up to where the pitch should be.. it's still detuned,
but I decided to keep it like that because I thought it
sounded cool (except for being very, very "thin"...).

big: I think the MIDI snare is some sort of 808 snare,
actually.. the sample sounds a bit like a noiseform with an
volume envelope... too bad I can't make my own
drum-samples... I cut out single stabs from anywhere and
resequence, and I once upon a time downloaded a huge library
of drums, but I can't remember where I found them, so I
don't know what they really are...

especially the ones labeled future samples or whatever

oh, hey tnx, sorry for spamming in your thread (it had its
own thread last week)
yeah, that program, native instruments is the best
i didnt use the program though, too much of a hassle, just
the samples, the low stuff in the beginning is from that too

straight: I'm not a fan of the hard panning. Drums and
bassline are good though, if a bit repetative.

thanks for the feedback...

the panning is so hard because there should be vocals, which
would take up a part of the track, but if I don't pan
without the vocals (which have never existed), the track
sounds empty.

wish i could give more productive feedback, but these three
didn't do much for me. for me, they were a little awkward,
generic and simplistic.
