Political Bickering

I was on irc when someone made a comment about "Korea"
being communist. I proceeded so call that person very
ignorant towards world geography and politics.

Then someone else spoke up and said that lots of people
refer to North and South Ireland as "Ireland"

I said:
You're saying they're similar? The two pairs are vastly
different. We're talking about two entirely different
government types which facilitate the societal functions of
the people. Not a difference between theological views.

Then he replied:
So you think the change of fifty years is equivalent
conceptually to divisions in countries which have been
opposed philosophically for thousands of years? No that
seems rather laughable.

Then we both got kicked from the channel.

Anyone have an opinion on this? Might be interesting to
discuss. But then again, so is music, pornography, and
alcohol.

So what you're asking is, does Kim Jong Il seem more like
Sinn Fein than wookies look like giant walking burnt hot
dogs, is that correct?

Its hard to interpret your intent, since Wookies do look
like walking burnt hotdogs but at the same time do not.

Well this is what I'm saying. It's like playing "one of
these things is not like the others" with five completely
unrelated items and stoned people. You start to see
similarities and parallels and coincidences and then next
thing you know you're drinking Guinness and eating kimchee
at the same meal.

Still hazy, but I get you now.
