Drop one of in your master track and set it to 0db so it doesn't compress, just catches the peaks. (as you turn the knob down to -2, -4, -6 etc it compresses more - it's almost neutral at 0 except it catches peaks that would have gone above 0db.) If you set your volume lower on individual tracks you can clear things up and slowly turn the knob on the master limiter until it sounds punchy but not overcompressed and saturated. I never turn it past -4. |
