no its not. in my opinion there is a fundamental problem
when it comes to handling people.

stop acting like a god, walking in on an old thread and then
hitting the ban button on people is just a symptom of an
underlying issue. but ignorance is bliss, and i do not
expect a change in behaviour from you as much as i expect my
own attitude to change, or the attitude of the persons
creating 'bad vibes' (you certainly have a way with words)

history repeats itself not because there will always be
people that come here to fuck up, of course there are always
trolls or moaning people in a community. you have to keep
repeating yourself over and over again due to your
inadequacy handling these people and a lack of feeling for
your community.

i will leave it at this. feel free to reply and have the
last say, if you must. ill see how this develops, from far
away, ill be back whenever. im sure all you can think about
is keeping random 50 post trolls away from here, but the
atmosphere here took a change for the worst

its impossible to discuss anything with someone like you.
does this piss you off, does this hurt you? perm ban me. i
think we all realize this is the quickest way.

I dont understand how you can permanently ban someone. It
really isnt possible. They can just resurface. Perhaps those
50 people were just one person. Perhaps that one person is
still here today.

"He hadn't made many friends here,
and on more than one occasion has said that electronic music

isn't really his thing, as well as not liking many people on

the board."

if you actually paid attention youd realize he has lots of
friends, myself included. If you paid attention, youd also
realize, he IS into electronic music, and its mostly because
of the FRIENDS he made on THIS BOARD.

And I agree with phob (and not in an ass kissing way) that
this has been discussed over and over. Whys it keep coming
back up?

Also... he has every right to do anything he wants. He pays
for this place, he owns it. End of story really. The idea
that anyone thinks he owes them anything, spawns from the
same mindset that people use to justify dling music
illegaly. The artist doesnt owe you anything... you want to
listen? Pay for it. If you want to be on this board, follow
the rules.

imo.

how is phobizero suppose to handle these people? he isn't a
fucking psychiatrist. if someone breaks the rules they
aren't suppose to get a special treatment. do you really
think he has the time and patience to raise xltronic members
like little kids?

I said pretty explicitly that phobes doesn't owe a damn
thing to us Damn Hungry IDM Fanz. It is his site, and
yeh, he can do whatever the hell he likes with it. I agree
fully.

Although i may add that the Chrismaster General hasn't made
a single music-related comment, or indeed posted in a music
thread in his last 25 posts, and not a whole lot before
that. Maybe the whole "friend-making thing" was out of line.
I'm trying very hard not to get personal here.

I was simply commenting upon the fact that he was a pretty
"marginal" (if that isn't too harsh a word to use) member
here, and suddenly he's all modded-up. Personally i would
like to see moderators who actually know the community
inside-out, and actually enjoy posting here for reasons
other than banz0ring and deletion of stuff.

I still think it was a bad decision, and it's definitely had
a negative effect.

What was a joke here before about someone farting, it was
really funny, I.... well the search doesn't work and I don't
know how productive searching for the word..."fart"

thing

just ... try it.... myself.

That seems to be an all-too-common statement lately. I
know phobiaman makes the final decisions round here,
and i know the mods/admins have The Ultimo Power, and
i know that yes, we can bloody well leave if we don't
like it, but i still wonder why the decision was made, all
personal beef left aside for the moment.

Why now to start all the post-delete, banz0r-orgy? What was
so wrong with the board? Yes, there was a smattering of
trolling, and yes there were a few obviously nonsense
threads, but those minor problems could have been solved
with a great deal more subtlety. The trolling has gotten a
great deal worse lately as you may have noticed, and the
reason doesn't take a genius to figure out.

But please go ahead, say "that's the way it's going to be
from now on" and post a winking smiley. Awesome.

*sigh*

Try to instigate some sort of serious debate and all you get
is an interweb form letter.

I hope you take what people are saying on board, though. I
know i've been a bit wanky to you in the past week or so,
and while it was drunkenly funny at the time i see it might
have been counterproductive. Just don't mentally label
anyone who disagrees with you as a potential troll for
future bannage. I'm not telling you how to moderate, just
expressing an opinion.

Which has been "noted", apparently.

oh.. a politics thread I missed!

"And I agree with phob (and not in an ass kissing way)
that
this has been discussed over and over. Whys it keep coming
back up?
"

if it keeps coming back up, isn't it obvious that it
actually is a problem? Dismissing something as a false claim
just because it keeps coming back up won't hold, man.

I don't really mind Chris' promotion, I remember talking to
him about Kung-fu a long time ago, and he's a nice fellow,
but I can't really say that I've seen him around too much
lately... phob should make one of the more regular people
mod...

I wonder; how does trolling actually hurt the
community? just because a few people don't find it funny? I
mean, if people were banned for not being funny nor to the
point at times, I don't think there would be much IDM to
start out with... imagine if Aphex made a bad joke, and was
banned from existence for a week.. or if the guy who
constructed the first synth farted just before he finished
it and got perm banned from life?!

AND; badgering people about not having been here for more

welcome for they hold the future and they hold development.

The trolling hardens the possibility to discuss electronic
music. Why can't bored people, just interested in making
pointless topics, find another hangout? And when Hyakusen
are making ten threads with "I love/hate Jedi Chris", he
knows what will happen. I think Phob is doing the right
thing when he is making another mod.

well.. the trolling isn't really trolling, IMO.. it's a way
of sustaining the community, which probably would perish
(remember; many of the "trolls" have actually paid for
memberships.. if there were to only be 100% serious posters
on, sustaining the page would be impossible (or it would
cost phobz lots more money!).. the thing that inhibits
discussion of electronic music is the low amount of really
interesting releases being made...
