Native instruments has some great stuff in the area of VST instruments and such. You know, the people that made Reaktor. Everything they put out is of top quality. The only problem is liscenced copies can get expensive, but thanks to the lovely people at paradox, you can try them all out for free.

i would much recomend madtrackerII. yeah its a tracker, but not like any other. it has full automation over trak fx, and a very high quality sound. give it a go, there is a free demo available.
