and i could almost swear it's faster..... hmmm.... :)

you probably have a corrupted profile directory.

95% of the time when firefox is being a bitch that is the
problem. it is still beta software, at least until this
tuesday... so, they've been changing it a lot, which
sometimes causes problems.

if you delete, or rename the profile directory in your
/documents and settings/, it'll most likely fix the
problems.

Yup..
I'm running the "Mostly Crystal Small" Theme for Mozilla...
It's pretty cool.
You can further customize it via the userChrome.css file, so
Google that and see for yourself. Just be sure to put the
"code modules" in the right place (ie. above or below that
special entry you're never supposed to delete).
Moz. should have no effect on your connetion. That's just
the internet being itself.
I'd recommend making another profile besides the default one
and using that one.
Go to speedguide.net and go to the TCP/IP tester section and
it'll guide you to tweaking that out, if you want more
speed.
TCP/IP Optimizer works too, and it's free.

I don't know what it's problem is.

you probably shouldn't eradicate IE just in case something
screws up. I still need IE to send e-mails (the "send"
button itself does not work using firefox)

"in case something screws up"
Like, if you get PWNED or something? ;)

Yeah, but I have a similar problem with Mozilla using my web
based email. Send works for me, just not the confirmation
"OK" button after sending an email. Maybe a java problem? I
don't use Java in my Mozilla, but javascript is enabled.
