thats one of the most stupid questions asked on this silly
board, really.

Geeze, you try to spread a little knowledge and all you get
is criticism.

You wear your ignorance proudly young jedi.

haha jedi ? like a boy with fake splash fisher-price light
plastic sabre ? nah, i prefer real steel.

and i have no idea how long fuckin nucleus is or anything.
not my shelf. too scientific to be a simple knowledge, boy.

hey, answer me - whats the usual type of steel used for
core in reinforced cocrete tanks ? eh ?

Here's a hint. If you took all the DNA in your body and
laid it end to end it would streatch from the earth to the
sun more than 4 times!

Hyakusen- we use rebar for that in Ohio. and that would be
a wonderfully pertinent topic for another thread. Super!

the strage part about dna is that it is unable to
communicate directly with thte mechanism that produces the
chemicals that make up your body.

rna does its bidding, but otherwise it is very much inert.

Which is why it's so easy to coax a strand or too out of
neaderthal bones and your g'ma's panties.

Acutally the very first fellow to observe it (under a
microscope of course) theorized (if you can call a letter to
his uncle a theory) that it was the determining factor in
heredity.

Unfortunately for the rest of us his uncle didn't publish
and the world would remain ignorant of the true nature of
dna for another 50 years.

and xltronic would remain ignorant of its length in
pertetuity.

ok

it's 6 fucking feet.

that's how many cells are in your body

Unraveled, it's long enough to go the moon and back. It's
only because of it's helical structure that it can be
compacted into a single nucleus. It would stretch around
the equator several times. No, I'm not making this up.

It's 6 feet. I remember learning that in biology my junior
year.

no you tard, thats the dna in all your body cells combined.
and, its nowhere near the 400000 km (or so) to the moon, its
about ... what was it again. 200 000 000 000 km. or so to
the sun. a couple of times.

this thread sucks.

molecular biology open next to me, but I'm not going to
answer the question.

Name calling! That's not nice ; )

You're probably right - that makes infinite more sense
actually. 6 feet x umpteen trillion cells sounds more
reasonable. It still is quite mind-boggling when you try to
wrap your head around the perspective.

THe guanine is contected to the cytosine, the thymine is
connected to the adenine. The adenine is connected to
my......wrist watch.

Guanine is bat shit- one of 4 chemical pairs that code for
your whole body.

The distance is to the sun and back ~4 times or so

ferns have 50 times the genes of humans.
