ok i have an software to install but it needs a C: drive for some little backup files. i dont have a C: drive, they are named E: F: and G: .
is there any way to avoid the problem ? like some software to make virtual hard drive or something...
and i used Partition Magic, didnt worked.

i would just go for it, i think if it cant find a hard drive named c, it will default to a location on your local hard drive, which is one of the above i am assuming.

If you're using Windows XP you can change the letters of your drives.

yes, why can't it install on a drive that is not particularly called "C:"?

Maybe, I've never used Partition Magic, so I don't know anything about it's operation

i can install it on any drive, but during instalation program asks for a drive C: - some backup files are installed on this drive. the problem is that none of my drives are named as C: .
i have win XP, how can i change drives names ?

Right click My Computer and select "Manage". Under "Storage" click "Disk Management", select a drive, right click and choose "change drive letter and paths"

now i forgot where the Cd with install files is. stupid.
