Has anyone bought this yet? I have, and it is really good,
I got it a couple of days ago, it is great.

There is a CD with some new (good) tracks and it is mixed
with older tracks.

Also there is a 5.1 DVD which is supposed to be the first
5.1 mix where you are immersed in sound, i.e. sounds swoosh
around, not bass out of the rear left, drums rear right,
etc.
Unfortunately I don't have a 5.1 system (yet!).

--> I would be interested to find out how good this is. I
have seen reviews saying its pretty neat.

Also the first thing to strike me about it, is that it has a
very nice CD case.
You have to gently press the side to open it, then the CD
sits directly on the DVD on a longer than normal spindle.
The booklet is very easy to remove, yet very secure when put
back in the front. nice.

So basically, I think you should get this purely on the
stereo mixes of it, the cool case, [and the 5.1 mixes which
i wish i could hear in 5.1 (not 2.0)]

No crap replies about it not being IDM, cos it is excellent
electronic music :P

cheesy? no, not really. Its more like electronic folk music.
Kinda like Mike Oldfield mixed with more electronics.
Yes there may be an element of cheese there, but it is good
stuff, just approach with an open mind.

Remeber its not cutting edge, maybe oxygene was when it came
out, but this, music wise at least, isnt cutting edge but it
is very enjoyable.
And its the first stuff I've bought by Jarre. I downloaded a
couple of tracks from oxygene and equinoxe then bought this,
so I'm not some devoted fanboy.

I was listening to your AEremix[ exillon ep7 (ae i o u)]
this morning. Without a doubt a brilliant piece of music. I
don't think I've ever told you but it is totally brilliant.

I love some of Jean Michel Jarre's stuff! People who say
it's all cheesy really haven't bothered checking out albums
like Oxygene 7-13, or Metamorphosis, or Sessions 2000, or
parts of Zoolook (which is insane)....

I have Aero, and the production is brilliant....however, I'd
have liked more new tracks.

I'd love to take credit for that, but exxillon is not
eXXailon. He is in fact another person.

Jean Michel Jarre is better then Aphex Twin because he is
French.

i don't get this, whats the point of doing slightly
different versions of previously released tracks? there is
hardly any new music (about 20%), it just plays as a
greatest hits. has he run out of ideas? what a
disappointment.

Yeah, it is a dissapointment.

But his music is still often good.
