"laughable butane bobby on 18:19 01/29/2002
a lot of people in the so-called 'idm' (stupid label) genre,
are just like rock fans, people tend to want to hear the
same thing over and over. i've read that people say that
Amber was the greatest album ever, but that Confield is
total shit. Or that Alberto balsalm was the greatest fucking
track ever while Ventolin and Aphex Airlines were the worst
shit ever, like Richard would RDJ even release such total
shit. To me, all these tracks seem to fit the character of
the artists, and Aphex and Autechre and squarepusher would
seem incomplete without hearing all their different sides.

what i find so very odd is that people like to brag and
label themselves, that they like non-mainstream experimental
music, and bash "commercial" acts as boring and sell-outs,
but then get disturbed when Autechre and Aphex try something
different, like it is too experimental or dismiss it after
one listen as total shit. if you claim to love these
artists, at least try to understand what they are trying to
do, and face up to the unpleasant reality that the world
does revolve around your ego."

i had to do this..........
peeps suck----its just music, who cares if it souds like
this or that or this or that. catagories are just a game
that humans play

selling out means more peeps get to lisen to the music-thats
good

staying underground means the music is just amonst the
friends-thats good

moral of the story..its only music, the best thing in the
world...

I guess so, but there is a fine line between bashing an
artists' work due to its over-experimentation or whatever,
and intelligently criticizing a track due to its flaws. I
mean, I love the Simpsons, so I can't say "Wow, that episode
sucked" without watching it 3 times to understand what the
writers are trying to do? B.S.

I do give everything RDJ puts out a chance, but have you
listened to Aphex Airlines more than once? It's tough to
do, and there's nothing that deep to delve in there. It
doesn't really bother me that he released it, I just think
its garbage, and would not be impressed even if it was made
by an mp3.com artist. Its because we love RDJ and other
artists, that we have to criticize the crap they put out.
If we had to have unconditional love and pretend we love
every aspect of RDJ's music from Ventolin to GAK (which
granted, some of us do), it would be just as pretentious and
false as it is to criticize a work that you haven't given
the proper time or attention to.

You're right, its just music, but RDJ (usually) makes it
something much much more.
