on reason you have complete control over EVERYTHING!

its like a whole studio on your computer.
100x better than fruityloops, no downside to that upgrade
what so ever

Monoid on 2002-01-28 17:29 [#00075690]

That also means you have to download a 600 MB ISO
file............

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2002-01-28 17:31 [#00075691]

Where can you get reason for free?

Monoid on 2002-01-28 17:33 [#00075692]

Well you can download Kick Ass Audiowarez on Soulseek, or on
IRC......!

reason is a toy. better than fruityloops though.

dave from canada on 2002-01-28 20:51 [#00075729]

wow fuck fruityloops, it screwed up on me and i cant get it
to work , im getting reason

dave from canada on 2002-01-28 20:51 [#00075730]

but i hear it's really complicated

Laserbeak from Netherlands on 2002-01-28 21:25 [#00075745]

Reason can't control external gear, can't run
VSTIs/DXIs/BuzzGear(Fruityloops can). So you need another
(rewire)program to do that as well... It's a closed
environment program and I don't really like that.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-28 21:31 [#00075748]

I don't know about reason, but Fruity Loops is super easy to
use... I downloaded it one night, and the next day I had a
song going... and you can make good stuff with it, so I
don't understand why so many people are against it...

Mutant Death Pengwin from Medicine Hat on 2002-01-28 23:11 [#00075775]

yarg! reason is not for the inexperienced!!!! i hate reason,
i cant do anything with that program!! grrr! everyone says
reason is so goooooodddd but i cant even program a simple
beat!
blarg.
fruity loops is good for anyone that is not super star music
makers, so stop dissing it!! i dont know why everyone hates
it. you can make music, so it is good!

Just download a few good VSTIs and Fruityloops totally beats
Reason. Orion beats both IMHO

thorpe from www.hepburnenthorpe.zzn.com on 2002-01-29 14:49 [#00076013]

yeah, im afraid fruity is the better. but if you can get
reason and keep fruity, why not have both?
the main downs to reason is the closed environment. no
vsti/dx/midi support. bassically your stuck with the synths
it comes with.

Could you guys maybe give me a link so I could check out
reason? I already know how to get to the fruity loops site
so that's not a problem.
Thanks!

http://www.propellerheads.se

That's it

And the site for Orion is?!

T®ansmission from Netherlands on 2002-01-29 19:26 [#00076081]

I looked at Orion, and man, that is a piece of shit. It's
somekind of a fake ass fruityloops, with limited
capabilities compared to FLP...But That's my opinion...I'm
hitting Reason (still using FLP though..) but Reason gives
me some more control, and I don't give that much about VSTi
and stuff, don't really like it ;) And I can ReWire if I
wanna use VST :P

And if I want other sounds, I can multisample them into
Reason :):)

I've used Reason but I lost the instructions and don't know
how to link different melodies, a friend of mine uses cool
edit for that.
It is a great program.

don't settle on just one piece of software. use combos.
learn them all.

Reason+FruityLoops+Buzz+etc etc

Reason is pretty sweet. i love the fact you can turn all the
decks around and rewire which devices run through what just
like you could w/ real hardware. yea, its hard to learn at
first but why do you want something so easy to use that
you're mom could make better tunes than yourself?
