most of you begin to know me, and so, you all know i am new in this aphex "thing", i knew almost nothing about him, autechre, squarepusher and boc... in the last month i ve had the luck of knowing them all, and though i have a long way ahead to get to be an expert i am already willing to learn more and more, and so, as i ve heard around this messageboard, i am curious about PLAID... my question is: How do they sound like? are they simple, complicated? soft, hard?
I love aphex´s melodies, and crazy harsh moments too I feel hypnoticed with autechre´s textures and with BOC´s softness... shall i like plaid?

you liked trainer? hmm don't know was a bit of odds and ends lumpsome sort of thing for e..not very appetising...
albums on the other hand I totally dig..got "not the three's "and "rest proof clockwork"..both fantastic...prefer the three's slightly more and drooling all over their latest cant afford it yet :(

now how do we describe plaids' sound.. hmm..extremely melodic...very eclectic eastern eroupean and carribean vibes..but they are not just about the melodies..got some really kickarse stuff as well..but the muscular stuff leans a lot more towards hip hop than mad breaks of the RDJ ans SP etc..I think they are more musical with lots of real intruments being played than autechre, aphex etc..
  hope this helps

I bought my first plaid's album 2 months ago and it's beautiful... I'm speaking about "Double Figure", try to listen track#13, it's sad but his melody is amazing.

Early stuff is straight forward bangin houseness not for3s is intricate and lush, double figure is all the best bits-so many diferant styles a real must have.

I don't like Plaid. I saw them live. They were headlining for Squarepusher. I thought Plaid was awful. Squarepusher was cool. Didn't make much music, mainly harsh noise.
