Dying Out?

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-28 08:00 [#00075585]

Has an electronic musician ever died out? This just
occurred to me, maybe its not as interesting as I think it
is...but, for example all pop/rap/rock stars, come and go,
but has any electronica artist ever just left the scene like
the spice girls? Maybe they have not because the genre is
just too new...but I dunno, maybe kraftwerk, or FSOL
somewhat left the focus of the scene, I'm not really sure.

Sure, lots of artists have. Just depends on what you like -
or what you pay attention to.

some of the old-timers are still churning it out...
vangelis, jean michel jarre

i don't think spice girls et al are really in it for the
music though... just a quick buck, they know their shallow
crap will be out of fashion in a few weeks
