Good slasher films

I need some good slasher films for Halloween. Give me some
that are generally chilling, or so bad, it's good. Doesn't
HAVE to be a slasher, I guess. But those are the funnest to
watch with lots of people around.

One of my favorites was on the Space Channel last night,
Black Christmas. Twisted atmosphere with the huge, scarcely
populated sorority house and the Christmas lights that
somehow make it even more creepy. Predates Halloween, and is
nearly as good. Some of the best prank calls ever.

And it starred Olivia Hussey, who is just so damn adorable.
If I was the killer, I DEFINITELY would have raped her.

And also Margot Kidder. Anybody else think she's pretty
attractive? She's not hot or anything, but she always steals
her scenes with that 'tude of hers, she does it in Superman
and she does it here. Spunk-ay.

Oh JESUS yes! Suspiria is a masterpiece of moody weirdness.

Check out Born of Fire: it's not a slasher film but it's
creepy and surreal and weird. Makes interesting viewing if
you're baked.

i should have kept this in one post, but i forgot some
others:
Eyes Without a Face - black and white, very good looking
french horror movie.
The Eye - pretty decent hong kong horror movie sort of along
the lines of j - horror like Ju on or Ringu.
Sante Sangre
And really no horror movie viewing experience is complete
without Dog Soldiers, which is just a load of b movie fun.

Halloween. completely obvious classic, but it really IS
good.

what I love about that film is, besides the teethgrinding
Carpenter-soundtrack, the beautiful cinematography.

if you see a good copy, you'll really see how crisp it all
still looks.

Yes, I would say that "Halloween" is the ONLY good slasher
film in existence (besides "Scream", which is actually quite
good really). "The Wicker Man" is not even really horror,
but fucking great. "A Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (the
original) also is great and disturbing.

Final Destination isn;t realy a slasher per say, but a good

If you get a chance watch one and two back to back

Don't want to ruin the film, but - farm - barb wire fence -
unaware bad teen actor - somekind of explosion or high
wind(its been awhile) -BAM! - comical moment (if only the
playdoh fun factory was that fun)
