I would like recommendations concerning John Peel's perennial favourites. I only have "the unutterable", but i love it something rotten. All fall fans, congregate here.

Hell yeah, mofo. I only have their more recent releases, such as aforementioned "The Unutterable" and their latest, "The Real New Fall LP Formerly 'Country On The Click'". They have been releasing stuff since the seventies, right? So, there's shitloads to be heard.
Fall website.

So yeah I am a fan. I don't really know their older stuff though. Saw them live at ATP 2003. Mark E Smith is way cool.

Hmmm the fall are a strange, strange band.... I'm actually the same as you, I only have 'the unutterable'. Dr Buck's Letter is just cooooool.
I downloaded a few tracks back in the napster days when I went through a fall phase, some classics:

Man, "Dr Buck's Letter" and "W.B." are amazing. Plus everything else from the unutterable. "Ketamine Song" and all that.
I've got "how i made elasticman" on mp3, and i like it lots, but there are MANY different versions of that song apparently, peel sessions, alternate versions etc. I dunno which one i've got. Thanks for the recommendations though.
Also, i think mark e smith had some input on an elastica 6-track EP that i've got. Dunno what, though.

I remember hearing Ketamine on John Peel and thinking it was the most bizzare and brilliant thing I'd heard in ages. What about 'Two Librans'... that' s a bit of a chooon, no? I need to hear some more albums to be honest, please people recommend.

My GAWD yes. "Two Librans" was in his Festive 50 thing, i'm sure. To be honest, it's hard to think of a weak track on that album.
For the sake of clint and I, recommend things to buy by the fall. There will be, like, suicide pacts and such if you don't, i'm sure.

I know it's shallow, but Mark E. Smith's absurd physical unnattractiveness limits my enjoyment of the Fall.

50,000 Fall Fans Can't Be Wrong would be a good one to get. It's a complete career spanning Best Of compilation.
And yes, Country on the Click is great.
