sorry for creating another topic, but since the search is out...
i still don't have the original copy and because it's to hard for me to wait till i get it i downloaded it and my question is; does it sound lo fi on original as well?
coz ive downloaded it in different quality but it all sounds lo fi..

I downloaded it from Emusic which has xtra hi quality VBR files and it sounds very lo-fi. I think it's deliberate.
Day After Tomorrow is one of his most touching songs ever.

it is very lo-fi, but still very crisp.
you could see "big in japan" on "mule variations" as a kind of template for the whole album (a LOT of Waits beatboxing..!).
it's a pretty great record, I must say. :)
