this is the latest in a string of pretty stellar releases
from Touch, over the last few years... Z'ev has done a lot
of experimental percussion work, but this work, as far as i
can tell is all old tape collage, compiled from across the
20 year period he has been working in the post-industrial
realm... given the primitive source material, this stuff
sounds pretty darn amazing... all sorts of displaced sonic
fragments such as air currents, voices, and drones get swept
up in these whirlpoolesque compositions, where all manner of
combination and permutation play themselves out over the
course of the 8 minutes that these tracks last (on
average)... because it's all relatively closed (the sample
sources, and whatnot), there is a surprising coherence to be
found in these rather chaotic sounding compositions... i
would highly recommend this one to anyone who has been
digging touch lately... and or fans of Nurse With Wound, the
Hafler Trio, and other experimental noise/industrial based
acts... werdTouchlink

Z'ev is most very excellent from what i've heard. I read a
review of this in the wire, and despite being rather pissy
about being dictated to (YOU MUST LISTEN TO THIS
EXPERIMENTAL AND VERY IMPORTANT ARTINESS ON HEADPHONES AND
NOTHING ELSE)
, they really liked it.

Shit, I remebered just now that I saw this guy play in
Stockholm when Fennesz was here. The best part of the night
was when Z'EV, Fennesz and some Swedish dude were jamming
together completely unrehearsed and unannounced.

I will add this to my list of things I shall buy as soon as
I get paid.

Z'EV site.
