Does anyone else agree that Kerry winning the election might not be such a good thing?
America is, it seems to me, on a huge and uncontrollable downward spiral - economically, socially and in terms of its confidence and power.
The Bush administration's multitude of mistakes and disastrous decisions will shape the future of the country (and the world) for decades to come. The shit still hasn't hit the fan.
Would it be a good thing for the shit to hit the fan whilst the Democrats are in power? The Republicans could then blame it all on the Democrats and, come the next election, get voted back in.
America might then be stuck with the Republicans (and conservatism) for decades.
The same thing happened in Britain. The Conservatives fucked things up, Labour inherited their mistakes, the shit hit the fan whilst Labour were in power, and we were stuck with a Conservative government for fucking ages.
Fucking hell.

No, if anyone has learned anything, no one will vote for Democrats or Republicans next time.

Seems to me that your concern is based on the idea that people will idiotically blame the current leader for a country's problems while ignoring the cause of these same problems. If that's the case it doesn't matter who gets elected. Republican or Democrat, his ass is out when, as you say, 'the shit hits the fan'.

You're right, that's exactly what I'm saying.....
....the party that wins this election is fucked and will lose the next one, and won't be re-elected for decades.
It might therefore be better if Bush wins.....

You forget that this country was stupid enough to elect bush the first time and MIGHT elect the boob again. You give us entirely too much credit to think that we would let trivial things like war or the economy influence or voting decisions.

that's the only reason you have the right to bare arms in the first place. finally an instance comes round when it can be used and the militia's look the other way. tss.

The right to bear arms was primarily for shooting English bastards- This country has laws against using corporal punishment on the mentally handicapped so Bush lucked out.

No, my friend. A few winnits (go to this site for a definition of "winnit") might have passed through the blades of the fan. But there are still several kilos of enormous turds that have yet to reach it.

a snowball effect has already taken place in america, and it isn't going to cease because kerry gets elected. we might be able to delay the inevitable, but this country is fucked in the long run.
i'd almost rather see bush get reelected simply to see some sort of counter culture movement take shape.
