My opinion on Kerry.

I used to think he was a total generic robot politician
douchebag.

After learning more about him and watching the presidential
debates, I actually respect the guy now. And with every
debate I feel like its less of "both canidates are the same
bullshit" and more of "John Kerry is our savior, amen".

holla.

*15 as an arbitrary number

only if all other options fail. Which is the opposite of
Bush, who will bomb with no good reason other than to set up
shop and make some money for him and his buddies.

Kerry has been to war, unlike bush, so he knows how terrible
it is and how even worse it is to goto war for no good
reason whatsoever (vietnam).

'liberation' right? LOL, what kind of economic benefits were
there during vietnam?

Because there is barely a difference between a republican
and a democrat. I'm not playing typical anti-american here,
The US system, fundamentally has some strong points. But the
race for presidency isn't one of them.

Vietnam was fear of the spread of communism. And south
vietnam had some French rubber factories w're defending.
Something like that. Dumb reasons. Never should have
happened.

I'd sooner have someone with a reputation of "indecisive"
than a reputation of "irresponsible murderer"". That might
be just me though.

Frontline had a special biography on both canidates last
night. It seemed pretty non partisan. The special covered
starting at the time they went to Yale and ending present
day. It went into Kerrys voting record and his motivations
for those votes. While I'm not crazy about Kerry, I have a
little more respect for him now.

I have to agree with you their, at one point everone was
saying he was the 'least worst' but having seen more of him
seems like he could be a decent president (if thats
possible). I'll definately be cheering him on but really
after these 3 debates which Bush seems to have lost how can
anyone in the US 'really' want Bush for another 4 years?

I personally find it pretty scary that such a large amount
of people can think Bush is a good president.

who you think will actually be better than him... vote for
him

in the UK its just blair, the other guy is not electable

if you don't live in our country and by our laws, rules,
taxes, education, etc., then it's kinda hard to say "I
personally find it pretty scary that such a large amount
of people can think Bush is a good president. "

I can understand your perspective from an outside entity,
but face it... you're not living in the country right now.
You are only seeing the foriegn relations side of things,
not the inner workings of the US systems.

So, just because people don't live in your country they
can't know how the US political system operates? I don't
think so. Plus, european countries you get a lot more of an
insight into american domestic relations than you do into
ours. American news is the world's news.

thats rubbish, and I stand by what I said. Its scary that so
many people think he's a good president. Thats my opinion
based on his pretty well know mistakes, which you don't have
to be in the US to see...

c'mon man, the US is the only superpower on earth. decisions
we make affect every other country on the planet, so
obviously someone outside of the country should be concerned
with who our leader is.

sadly, there isn't much you can do about that, except take
in different sources, always keeping in the back of your
mind that you're dealing with interpretations.

excuse me, where did we take the u-turn to me being
apathetic?

I'm simply saying this is reality. there really is nothing
you can do, but the aforementioned (take in different
sources, always keeping in the back of your mind that you're
dealing with interpretations). saying that "if you rely on
the news media to understand what's going on you are fucked
no matter where you live" is just painting too simple a
picture.

this has nothing to do with me being apathetic or not.
