Victimless Leather

Oron Catts and Ionat Zurr at the Tissue Culture & Art Project are
attempting to grow a semi-living jacket in an effort to
create "victimless leather." Hoping to highlight the
possibility of wearing leather without killing an animal,
the duo is presently focused on growing living tissue into a
leather-like material and having it mature in the form of a
miniature, stitchless, coat-like shape.

A family who brreed guinee pigs forr medical testing have
been getting a ton of shit off some mental animal rrights
people. It rreached a peak yesterrday when they dug up the
family's dead grrandmotherr. They believe that they'rre
going to cut herr up and post herr bit by bit 'til they stop
brreeding these guinee pigs.

1. yuck
2. lol
3. it's a good thing they're going through all this trouble
to make a jacket and aren't trying to use science for
advanced skin grafts or something that's actually useful.
that would be a real shame to waste a perfectly good mouse
jacket on a human burn victim.
4. performance art is awesome.

yeah, because killing a few animals because someone wants a
cool jacket is useful.

no, no. i'm not saying we should kill animals for jackets.
i just think it's more important for scientists to
concentrate on the benefits for humans first.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE SAYING YOU NAZI!!!!!!11!!

I know, I know.. but it doesn't seem useless as long as
people want to wear tight leather pants.
