in one of the episodes of one of the newer the simpsons
seasons lisa is angry about homer because she realizes that
he doesn't "know" her. as a result homer tries to get to
know her and finds out about her favourite music etc etc.

then he plays some Miles Davis song and lisa says "uh!
thats --- by miles davis, my favourite song!"
what was the name of the song. it was good and i want do
download it.

I didn't think she mentioned a song title. Homer plays the
album "Birth of the Cool"

They totally recycled that plot from the episode where Homer
realizes he doesn't know Bart and they make the soap-box
derby car.

fuck soulseek.
it's impossible to download miles davis albums with slsk. i
tried to downlowad "kind of blue" for Days using slsk, but
if there weren't 500 users in a queue the connection was
closed after a few seconds / minutes of downloading.
now, after i downloaded birth of the cool for 25 minuten
with 0.7 - 1.5 kb the connection broke down again.
fuck.

what are you talking about... i just downloaded 4 miles
albums last night. albeit kind of blue wasn't one of them.
all you IDM-heads would like On The Corner the best I
think... it sounds more like an abstract electronic piece
than what most people would think of as jazz... (in
structure more than sound, although it does use drum looping
and ARP synths and whatnot). Actually I think its
structurally more complex than most of the so called
headphukking IDM, plus musically better too. try it out.

i managed to download the "bitches brew box" and listen to
"slow fire" right now. sounds like elektronika that's been
released in 2000.

Just check out my archive, I've said it time after time (eh
Miles pun) that DARK MAGUS is really bordeline live idm... I
mean if Ultravisitor can be considered IDM, then Dark Magus
can also.

There's some poundering bass moments in the middle of the
record, damn it feels like IDM without electronic
instruments. Is that possible anyway?

Anyway I wouldn't be surprised if ""uh!
thats --- by miles davis, my favourite song!" is "my
favourite things" ;-D

Miles Davis is like the Autechre of jazz, whereas Pat
Metheny is more like the Aphex Twin of jazz

john coltrane performed 'a love supreme' live only once...
it's the second disc of the special edition of the album of
the same name. i have a lot of jazz (especially coltrane and
miles - every period) and i can honestly say it's the best
jazz album i've heard. available on slsk records, and
amazing.

why would you buy the CD? the man's dead you know...

Welt, it's really hard to judge whether or not you will like
one miles album if you happen to like another, his recorded
material is insanely diverse... as for slsk, just be
persistent and try to seek users out rather than using the
search function... (when will they ever repair the search
function?!)

KainiIndustries, i have the a love supreme album and like
it. it was the second jazz album i bought (the first one was
ascension by john coltrane which i found impressive). if
i'll come across the live set from the special edition i'll
"get" it.
