every now and again, I wonder ... what if.

What if that Aphex twin album (one that I haven't bought yet
...) that I downloaded on slsk, what if that wasn't the real
album. What if i've been playing and getting totally blown
away by work that is actually someone elses.

This happened with one track before (BoC - Chinook) .. My
copy of chinook was actually Everything you do is a
Balloon.

But just kinda makes ya think. NOW GET OUT THERE AND BUY
MORE RECORDS TO MAKE RICHARD $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$4

well you have no way of really knowing who it is.

it's not lile popular music you hear on the radio or can
hear their voice.

hmm, maybe I should start experimenting with letting people
odwnload fake music off me and see what happens.

Yeah, snaeak, it's quite a fucked up realization...

We could be posting and commenting on tracks that are
completely different than what other people are listening
and commenting on.

Actually, it happened twice that you said mt. st. michael
was your favorite drukqs track and I retorted that I didn't
understand what all the fuss was about.. well yeah I had the
wrong track (I _still_ haven't bought drukqs!), and yeah I
like the track a lot too

I think most people had that thought when they first started
using Napster years ago...in fact the only type of person it
would take so long to realise are fucking faggots.

happened to me with 'Undoneson' by Plaid, which was labelled
as 'Tequila Fish' by Squarepusher.

there is an easy way to check though: search on a site the
track times, and to be really sure find some sound
samples...

I downloaded an R.E.M trrack and it has a virrus. When I got
rrid of it I downloaded the EXACT same file again and got
the virrus again, that was shit.

uzim, checking all those filenames is just tedious and i'd
rather not do it...especially for thousands of tracks.

Still, who knows what the hell I could be listening to for
all these years

I downloaded Amon Tobin's Bricolage but the last 4 tracks
are actually only 2 tracks but each is there twice under
different names. Shocker
