Apparently they're really common, but i had my first flying dream last night. I suddenly realized that by tilting my arms in the correct way and flapping really hard i could take off... it was great. I was flying really low over my town, looking down on a double decker bus, and freaking everyone out. I taught all my friends how to fly as well. I woke up physically knackered, it was that vivid. My first "happy" dream in months.
To combat this thread's entirely personal and uninteresting nature, i will ask: do you dream about flying? If not, what do you dream about?

Hehe. They're pretty neat, usually. You're lucky you had a good one! I have a semi-regularly occuring dream where I discover that I can will myself to fly, and it's fun for a few hours until enough people spot me... and then all hell breaks loose. Once, I had cops firing at me, and me yelling back that ''I'm misunderstood''. And of course the dream ended when I took a slug to the back. Sometimes I even drop out of the air spontaneously, and of course, only at great altitudes.
But the good parts of those dreams are amazing, I know what you mean about ''physically knackered''. I woke up shaking once, after a really gorgeous flight over a massive canyon.

The dream before this involved me somehow causing a huge motorway smash-up whilst being going past on a train. I'm not sure how. The weirdest thing is, i woke up in bed, checked my phone to see what time it was, and i had a message from myself saying "car wreck" and nothing else. I must've woken up in the night and sleep-texted myself, but it still freaked me out upon waking.

Aye me too, i used to have a very extensive record of all my dreams, i'd kinda "trained" myself to remember them. I've got about a 100 page word file of all those subliminal wankeries releasing themselves. Can't do it now though, but if i remember a dream well, it's usually vivid enough to freak me out for a day or two.

see, thats what i like, dreams that are strange or fucking with your mind. saves you the trouble of getting a movie, and sometimes you can control it. dreaming is like all good activities combined.

the last thing i remember about flying is this
i was walking around in a forest, and all of a sudden the trees dissapear and the ground goes pixely, like in a flight sim. i think "whoa shit im dreaming" and somehow keep myself from shooting up some levels of conciousness. i start to run, and jump up. i land 30 m away, and see a shed in the distance. i take another run and leap onto the roof of the shed, and rocket into the sky. i fly about for a bit, and the grounds pixelated look remains, until i change it. i also add clouds, and a airplane. after a while i lose control, and my mind takes me to a huge hurricane. i wake up :\

Most of my dreams are vaguely unsettling, but i get a few that are out-and-out terrifying (usually the most vivid ones) so they fuck my head up on occasion if i remember them. I agree that dreaming is quite like watching a film though, albeit one directed by some sort of david lynch-character who's utilizing all of my deepest anxieties and fears.

I was born a lucid dreamer. I have been taking control of my own dreams since i was 5.
Flying is incredible. There are various methods of take off. But behind it all, there is one feeling that your body (in the dream) experiences and if you can recall that feeling at any point and conjur it you can do anything (ie levitate objects and make things disappear)
To the point where you are dictating your own surroundings.

i often dream that my teeth are locked together, like if you bite into a jolly rancher really hard and your teeth get stuck in it.
then when i force my mouth open, it cracks out all my teeth. this is my least favorite recurring dream.

Holy fuck, I have dreams like that too, like teeth get kind of 'tangled' up, like stuck behind the other, and the only way to open my mouth is like *ckkkskkgkkgk* and they scrape and it feels like they are going to pull out. Eee

Hmmm, i had a really fucked up dream a couple of days ago. Unfortunately i can't remeber all of it now. The last bit was very bizarre and it dosen't really make any sense out of context. But it involved walking down a corridor with alot of doors and alot of people and as i am walking a cleaner comes out through one of the many doors in front of me. As i walk past i look into the room and see blood all over walls and carpet and a few limbs, they looked like childrens limbs, as and i can hear the cleaning person say something along the lines of "it likes like somebody was playing football with them..." Then i woke up.
From what else i can remember, it was walking definately like some kind of hell dimetion dream or something be cause it played up to an idea of hell in my mind. Because the whole world was mess of concrete and consumerism, the whole place looked like a giant shopping mall, all the lifts were fucked, there were so many people and the thing that stuck out to me the most that the children i saw in this dream were always hurting themselves sohow or were being mistreated or were on their own for some reason.
But i have had other dreams which border on fucking murder mysterys and they are always really gratuitious with the content and they are all extremely graphic.
Weird...

Actually, now that I think about it, it's more like if you made your bottom jaw underbite your top jaw so that the bottom teeth are in front, and then tried to retract your jaw. I hope I don't do this in my sleep...that could really fuck up my teeth.

Apparently, "teeth" dreams are really common as well... supposed to be something to do with "biting off more than you can chew" and communication in life. Although i put about as much faith in dream analysts as i do in fucking mystic meg.

i remember when i mastered the art of "standing on no legs" in my mum's kitchen, it was such a feeling. I would lift one leg and then concentrate for a while before lifting the other to be able to float, though a twich of a muscle would make me fall down. i remember my mum being quite impressed....
but then you have to wake up and go to school while it's still dark, you haven't done half your homework and you have no idea what that test is about.

i once had a very vivid telekenesis dream. It involved waking up and eating breakfast and discovering I could make the drips coming out of the fossit bend and hover. I kept working on it all morning and I was eventually able to hold large objects like my trees. The feeling of holding something with your mind is something I still remember and is often hard for me to imagine not being real.
