sounded like fairly stale tracker material, the focus of it's interestingness was the sound samples themselves mostly not their organization into patterns, though I like the idea of going in weird directions, it could have been done a couple of fractal scales more microscopic or something. Of course I know it's your first song.

M can u clairify? " it could have been done a couple of fractal scales more microscopic or something"
i've heard much about this fractal stuff, and i do have a program but it just draws images based on equations, i dont yet know what sound has to do with fractals.

actually I listened again and it sounded a lot better, so it's one of those songs that grows on you with repeated listens. I meant that, like right now, it's composed of big sound units... and big time units (relative to some super intricate stuff out there like michael fakesch "marion" or the richard d james album etc) so you could, like, inflate the entire pattern... make every unit twice as far apart, but then speed up the song 2wice as fast... ultimately keeping it the same but just having more empty space between units to play with. what could you put in these empty units? probably the best thing that will sound good is something symmetrical to the original song. Maybe the same song could be played on these "in between" units... maybe at a higher octave, or maybe play the same song at twice the tempo and the original song simultaneously. I found symmetry sounds good in music and are etc. because some way the brain works I guess. Fractals are just scaling symmetry. I should have said a couple scales more microscopic.

hey..that was pretty cool..simple but nice..impressive being your first song..
much better than my first track..heh
oh and dont listen to the people telling you you have to spend loads of money to make music..you dont really...especially if youre just starting out...just find software you like and be creative with it...most software out there is pretty versitile (sp?) even the cheap ones...
i spent $0 dollars on software...(no i didnt steal it) ..and this is what i came up with..

m's house is probably just infested by smurfs...they probably get on his computer at night and download smurf porn...and when he tries to download things...the porn comes up..damn cookies..
smurf infestation is a serious problem in some parts of the world..for this very reason...that and they leave their little blue poops everywhere...

im not agree with Rustopher. Even if reason kicks asses ( but is not so user friendly). yu can make fucking good tracks with just a tracker. having fuckin great music tools, with thousand of possibilities won't make yu do better music if yu cant use them at 100%.
