boc--kid for today

Beautiful track, perfect for a slightly dulled dark,
introspective mood. I guess if a gun was put to my head,
I'd say that one of the only similar tracks I know is bola's
soleiele, but anyway.. this track is great

good call. at the moment it's providing a good backdrop for
my mind trying to do something but actually spending its
energy sighing through a sea of memories..

I don't know that track--looking it up on soulseek right
now. My warpvision dvd should come soon; too bad it has no
BOC. It'd be nice if there was some unreleased autechre (or
something) on there, but of course it'd be nice if a million
dollars teleported into my room and I learned to smile as
well.

forest moon is awesome as well, but i'm pretty sure kid for
today is my fav boc song besides roygbiv. sounds totally
different yet completely like their "sound".

warh0l, you probably meant NISSAN commercial directed by
Chris Cunningham?
Yeah, it's said to feature "music" by BoC.
To me, it's just some low-bass drone going on there.

Or maybe there's a full version somewhere that's 6 or so
minutes long and features their best track ever? =)

btw, Kid For Today is a great track, one of their best, and
one of my favourite ones

What's the little track played in the background on
music70.com called? I really like that.

There are also good tracks played on boardsofcanada.com
I like the "Time Apple" one, it differs from their other
stuff but is very cool, I WANT IT!
But, I guess, they're all unreleased (to be released?), as
the one eXXailon mentioned

It resonates the sort of warmth you'd expect from a loved
one. Great track, one of my favourites. Perhaps even my
favourite by Boards of Canada.

yeah i hope traits, gann, time apple, and the windy song on
music70.com will be included in the next album. that would
be cruel if they didnt.

One of my favourite EP's ever, although my personal
favourite is In a beautiful place, kid for today is pretty
damn nice too though. I am in a BoC mood today.

i really like the stereolab remix of this song. totally
different feel, but still very good.
in a beautiful place...ep = BoC's best release.

uh,that mix destroyed every emotion imo...it's defo an
abstract version, but can't go thu it.

huh? i watched a video that had kid for today played in it.

Some chick dives off into an empty swimming pool... she
suddenly starts floating around, apparently swimming in thin
air, the entire time kid for today is playing...
am i wrong on this or what?

A few days ago my playlist riveted my attention; it hit
forest moon, which I hadn't given it a good listen to before
, mostly due to the rest of the tape not living up to the
hype.

anyway, it's really really really beautiful, thanks ever so
much for recommending it.

This is a good song. My favorite Boards of Canada tune is
Sixtyten.

I still like that koizume/funky-music recording you posted.

this and korona were the first two tracks of theirs I liked.
I am really loving forest moon these days, but kid for
today has been a constant favorite.

Yeah I had a bunch of their older stuff with Forest moon and
loads of other earlier BoC tracks. It was kinda strange to
hear all those supposedly early BoC songs, as you can
totally see their development of style. I like that
"Trapped" remix alot. Its fucking oldschool, man.

about sixtyten, I give mhtrtc a listen now and then with my
portable lover audio ding, but still am not a crazy fan.
Generates quite some appreciation. I definitely like it more
than the rather discrete geogaddi.

I guess the BoC tracks I have don't go back early enough, I
don't here much difference in the unreleased early shit and
the published material. I feel mhtrtc more to their roots
and geogaddi a diversion. emmmm I have listened to this all
very little emmmmm I had a very nice spanish professor who
preferred that to
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmwmwwmmwWMWMWMMMWMWMWMMW

I'm hoping their next release will try to break new ground
yet retain their tightness from mhtrtc.

Have you heard "Last Walk Around Mirror Lake (Boards Of
Canada Remix)" on Boom-Bips' "From Left To Right"? Its
sounds fucking amazing on vinyl. The record also has a
Venetian Snares remix of Buck 65 which is bizarre and is
also one of my few tolerable snares tracks. The Boombip
track is wicked and so is the extremely drifty clouddead
track. Very satisfying listen!

haven't heard that! I'll check it some time. I can't
imagine what their next release will sound like; their
timbre in general is rather surprising to me.
