fuck off. just because you have shitty taste. I tell you
this now...Rephlex are pioneers...that's right...pioneers.
They take undervalued music and give it a higher profile,
there are a million and one, dime a dozen, labels releasing
generic so called "IDM" and this music scene needs labels
like Rephlex, who have gained a footing, to continue to
promote music that they like.

If you don't like it, don't download it (as I doubt you have
ever purchased anything from them anyway).

Kindest Regards.

Me.

Additional:

There have been many many good, if not excellent, releases
on Rephlex...but because they haven't always been by artists
with a 'buzz' about them in the scene they often go ignored.
Also a lot of their releases die as soon as people find out
it's not an RDJ release (for example Astrobotnia which would
have sold tons and tons if it had been an AFX release
sounding exactly the same)

I am sick of reading Rephlex bashing.

Additional Additional:

Remember this label was set up by Grant and Richard BEFORE
Aphex got famous, to release music they liked. Why should
thy accept criticism from anyone regarding what they choose
to release. As I said before, if you don't like it, don't
buy it.

You aren't supposed, or expected, to like everything that a
label releases, and just because you happen not to like some
of their output is no excuse to have a pop. If you think
you can do better, get off your arse and set your own
fucking label up.

Yes.

Yes they should be free to speak their mind, but they should
also be willing to accept responses without crying. I mean
statements such as "i dont d/l rephlex tracks albums etc
because its not worth it", is purile and childish. Rephlex
carrys a wide roster of artists, and yet you speak as though
Rephlex is itself the producer of tracks. My comments,
while initially followed up on you but it was meant in
general as this board seems to be going further and further
down the path of generic wide range bashing without much
substance. If you were to say "x release was a bit poor or
shit because of y" I wouldn't have a problem because at
least then you show you aren't just jumping on the "it's
cool to slate Rephlex" bandwagon.

i take back what i said (i dont d/l rephlex tracks albums
etc
because its not worth it) its not what i meant to get
accross. What i was trying to say is that i havnt enjoyed
the vibe and output of rephlex for a along time, i did like
the fact that the bbc radiophonic workshop was putout, in
fact i am nothing but gratefull that they did, but this is
only thing that have put out for a long time that has been
interesting

"Rephlex carrys a wide roster of artists, and yet you
speak as though Rephlex is itself the producer of
tracks"

no rephlex does not produce the actual tracks but its not
like the bug would give RDJ & GCW an album of boyzone esq
tracks and expect a release

also im not jumping on a "bandwagon" i have always said that
i think the rephlex output is poor

rephlex as a label, would have minor following (below the
one it has now) if it wasnt for RDJ

OK you can take back your "i dont d/l rephlex tracks albums

etc because its not worth it" because it was a minor flaw in
an otherwise mature and well thought out set of responses,
including "haha how does grants ass taste"

uppon the fact that, of course you can voice your opinion,
but you voice it in such a way that you'll always have
people like me and ecnadniarb shouting back at something so
ridiculous as saying it's poor/shit/worthless/bla bla bla
when you could just say it's not your taste!
the music they put out is fantastic to them and to many
people, they/we are artists and therefore are sensible to
those type of things, sorry but it was a dumb way of saying
things...

i'm not always here, of course one can say that, but
there'll be reactions

and maybe it was justified a bit, or sarcastic like he's
often

calling, for example, the bug shit or not good is simply not
justified, he's clearly not to everyone's tastes but it's
not shit...

and what is really upsetting is people saying things without
any explanation
"X is shit!!!" isn't going to be very constructive... ever

anyway, i know i'm too much into this, but rephlex as always
been bashed because of them takings risk comercially
speaking, releasing what THEY want and not what people want
but it seems that of late people have lost a huge amount of
respect for guys that are still "pushing" the scene in a
certain way

peace.

eXXailon: give me a couple of examples? When I do it, I
certainly don't class an entire label as shit. And yes I do
find certain releases on Rephlex shit (collapse of the wave
function 1 and smojphace being two prime examples) but that
is my personal opinion over individual releases, and the
good stuff far far outways the stuff I think is shit.

nobsmuggler: hoho. Child.
