THE Best Ambient Track Ever

Maximus Volumus aka Clive Cliveson aka Schtickende from East Cliveland on 2002-01-23 15:41 [#00074078]

So then, best ever? Personally it has to be Rhubarb....no
wait Stone In Focus. Erm Stone in Focus, Rhubarb is
beautiful but Stone has more variation, just. However
Rhubarb is the only one that brings back memeories....Where
can i get the special edition of SAW2...and also, are there
any other albums like SAW2?

Gettin' down on some Drukqqies

doki from grmny on 2002-01-23 15:47 [#00074079]

sucker, i still have to work a few hours ´till i´m getting
down on my druqks SO FUCKING DON´T TELL ME!!!! :-)
o.k., seriously now, any other albums like this ... hmm ...

fsol-stuff (was mentioned a lot recently here) -
klf´s chillout -
my stuff (i had to mention it, sorry :-)) - the orb´s pomme
fritz/bbc session (!!!) - flying saucer attack (be carefull,
not everything´s good) ... o.k., that´s all for now ...

ArchRival on 2002-01-23 16:37 [#00074107]

Autechre - Vietrmx21

thats the best ambient track ever heard.

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2002-01-23 16:39 [#00074110]

Rhubarb or Vietmrx21.

Both almost make me cry. :-(

/-T|K|R-\ from the start on 2002-01-23 16:40 [#00074111]

george from japan on 2002-01-23 17:18 [#00074134]

Aphex Twin's "Selected Ambient Works Vol. II"

Disk 1, track 4 "Grass"

The way he used voices in this track is spectacular.

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-23 19:09 [#00074155]

I like Trees actually... or Track 9 disc one... I think it's
a great, errie track...

Jarworski from Wales on 2002-01-23 19:10 [#00074156]

Walking Corpse by Brutal Truth

Archrival on 2002-01-23 19:21 [#00074162]

Archrival on 2002-01-23 19:28 [#00074166]

Biosphere - Poa Alphina

Thats a SWEEEETIE

ofcourse rhubarb and a lot of Eno stuff...

Archrival on 2002-01-23 19:28 [#00074167]

Poa Alphia

aperson on 2002-01-23 21:20 [#00074193]

vletrmx21
...vletrmx21
vletrmx21...
VLETRMX21

Laserbeak from Netherlands on 2002-01-23 21:28 [#00074196]

My fave is Biosphere's Antennaria, it's absolutely magical
IMHO

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2002-01-23 21:44 [#00074203]

SAWII is good ambient but there is a LARGE world of ambient
that iam getting to know more of everyday. Lustmord has some
amazing ambient stuff that for creepy reasons totally blows
AFX outta the water, Brian Eno, William Orbit... so many.

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2002-01-23 21:49 [#00074207]

Lustmord...

Never heard of him/her/them...

Any Lustmord track recommendations?

me on 2002-01-23 21:51 [#00074211]

anything by anal cunt, really

makes me cry every time

Ken from ireland on 2002-01-23 22:20 [#00074223]

Blue in Green by Miles Davis

kbd on 2002-01-23 22:39 [#00074226]

I don't know about the best ever, but Stars of the Lid is
making the best ambient today. Taphead is a great track.

Loogie from UK on 2002-01-23 23:01 [#00074231]

This a good thread...
Hopefully everyone will find some eclectic tracks they've
never heard before.

Check out Speedy J - R2 D2

Loogie from UK on 2002-01-23 23:39 [#00074239]

is it vietrmx21 or vletrmx21 ??

and whats the difference between tri repetae and tri
repetae++ ??

aperson on 2002-01-23 23:42 [#00074241]

it's vLetrmx21

Tri Repetae just has one disc
Tri Repetae++ has two discs. The second disc contains the
garbage and Anvil Vapre EPs.

Loogie from UK on 2002-01-23 23:50 [#00074243]

Thanks for that info...
is that the only difference? I already have anvil vapre, so
I guess I'll just get the normal tri repetae. is garbage any
good?

</sine707> from Frankfurt/Germany on 2002-01-23 23:53 [#00074244]

Soehngenetic - Drama-Tour-G

|REFLEX| from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on 2002-01-24 00:08 [#00074249]

Ophecks: no. any, just look for an album, i have 2 of them..
if that helps?

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-24 01:01 [#00074273]

Aphex Twin - Rhubarb
Aphex Twin - Cliffs
Aphex Twin - Stone in Focus - this song is mind
blowing...IMO

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2002-01-24 01:06 [#00074276]

Xanatos... flawless list. I'm listening to Stone in Focus
right now... my mom is upstairs yelling at me to turn it
down, it's shaking the windows!

aperson on 2002-01-24 01:09 [#00074277]

Vletrmx21 is on garbage =]

corngrower from Iowa on 2002-01-24 01:29 [#00074283]

Aphex- Blue Calx
Boc- Eagle in your mind

The_Funkmaster from Newfoundland, Canada on 2002-01-24 01:33 [#00074284]

yeah, Stone in Focus is a song you just gotta play loud!!!

canerfold from minneappleseed on 2002-01-24 01:36 [#00074286]

garbage = good = buy

LeMoN on 2002-01-24 01:56 [#00074298]

Stone In Focus is my favorite song. Period. The level of
genius displayed in that track, the restraint shown, is RDJ
at maybe his peak of musical talent. Oh, and Vletmx IS
mindblowing as well...

Xanatos from NYC on 2002-01-24 02:33 [#00074300]

ophecks you ever read the post I wrote about the time i
listened to SiF and like everything became slow motion...it
was insane...I can't seem to find it

f.l.e.a from wheretheresmoreome on 2002-01-24 04:33 [#00074341]

i gots me a new favourite
Jamie Lidell's DROON-99...
total mind phuck alternating ambience and evil

wayout on 2002-01-24 04:47 [#00074343]

hmm...several tracks off of saw2 of course...cliffs, blue
calx, rhubarb, tree...just to name a few...
some from saw85-92...actium, ageisopolis..among others

biosphere - too fragile to walk on

rotor+'s aileron(the whole album)

most of brian eno's stuff

ae's montreal, vletrmx21, 444

the orb's 'a huge, ever-growing, pulsating brain that rules
from the centre of the ultraworld, little fluffy clouds

boc's a beautiful place out in the country..

...i wish i knew more ambient...i really like most of what
i've heard

Spud from Susanville, CA on 2002-01-24 06:15 [#00074353]

corngrower from Iowa on 2002-01-24 20:21 [#00074543]

I'de say the regular and u-ziq mix of on are more ambient
than the reload mix, but thats just my opinion

Ophecks from Nova Scotia on 2002-01-24 20:22 [#00074545]

Shit, I've never heard the Reload mix...

Better download it, ASAP!

corngrower from Iowa on 2002-01-24 20:31 [#00074550]

You should definetly get it ophecks. Reload does a superb
job.

Loogie from UK on 2002-01-24 23:07 [#00074600]

Reload is Mark Pritchard isn't it?

Scattering from V on 2002-01-25 02:12 [#00074638]

Definately Rhubarb

Scattering from V on 2002-01-25 02:15 [#00074640]

I kind of like Petiatil_cx_htdui of of Drukqs the piano is
real depressing. But im not sure if that would fit into
your category of ambient.

broken from USA on 2002-01-25 03:04 [#00074661]
