Our fellow xlt member Tolstoyed owns Artificial
Intelligence 1&2, warp:influences, remixes and classics (all
them compilations)...

hes interested in warp in their early stage of development
(when they hadnt turned to shit yet)

does anyone have info, facts and stories about them early
warp releases?

he also asks if theres any other compilations (preferably
obscure shit) to check?

too much use of 'them' instead of these.

my input:

BLECH:1 is obscure, BLECH 2 is widely available and cool too

I only have warp classics, and AI 1+2. However, i would
recommend the slovenian geezer to check out early black dog,
B12, and all demz early 12"s on warp, sheffield bleep scene
etc. I dunno if they're up at bleep.com or not, i've not
checked... i feel they might be hard to locate on slsk.

I think dog_belch might be the man to ask, i know he likes
to relive his wasted youth by listening to all this type of
gubbins. The wonderfully silly old fool.

Bless you DS9mm, I agree FULLY with all you said. I would
only add to say he should get his mitts on Pioneers of the
Electronic Groove, the first Warp compilation, with
highlights, for me, from Tuff Little Unit "Join the Future",
DJ Mink "Hey Hey Can U Relate" and Tomas "Mind Song".

how could i know this is only about WARP!?
i expect that when he's interested in warp only, he checked
all compilations on there already, so i thought it was about
other labels too

JAROON 5 !!!!

It is the Goodness, and the Joyousness combined. I know
young master Vibert revamped it later on, but the original
is quite the freshness. I remember someone on this VERY
BOARD had a story about meeting DJ Mink (or possibly his
cohort Kid Caruthers) in a pub in Brighton not long ago,
apparently he was quite bitter. I think it was Soundguy. Is
that the sort of gossip the Tolst' is after?

thank you people!!
i found all compilations, although there was a bit of a
confusion with sweet exorcist and forgemasters...not sure
which one was supposed to be the real wap001...ah well.

Check out the Trance Europe Express compilations. They were
double discs with cool color booklets. Lots of early warp on
there, as well as other similar stuff. I've got a few of
them. The booklets tend to fall apart, though.

Yeah, the booklets were bleedin' huge, nearly 200 pages.
I've got a couple of those albums. Quite good stuff on there
sometimes.
