i just picked up this game for x-box, might i say, it's
great. I've only played a couple hours into it. So far, i've
just become free to chose my own quests.

Seems easy so far. I can definately tell i'm about to get
addicted to yet another crazy RPG. Lately, i've found a few
little glitches, like the game seems to start and stop now
and then... :/

Neat to see danny elfman doing the score, but not that
surprsing that he's EVERYWHERE you look now.

My cousin got if a few days ago, and beat it in just TEN
FREAKIN' HOURS and doesn't want to bother with it anymore...
he was really disapointed with it. He did have fun
slaughtering the locals, though. I'm still going to buy it,
although I might wait until I can get a used copy soon.

How's the exploration? I heard it was too linear for a game
that was hyped to be so open ended...

10 hours sounds good. i really hate these long games these
days. it's like you have to be a complete loser to have the
attention and time to beat these things

10 hours...? hm.

it's true it is quite linear... but i don't think that that
has much to do with how you want to go about playing. I
mean, you do have the choice to RUN through the game if
thats what you want to do of course.

I enjoy the versatility of your particular character in the
interactions with 'common' folk. so many options.

10 hours sounds good for a Metal Gear Solid/Silent Hill/Half
Life/Metroid, but not a game that uses its epic scope and
size as a selling point. I could have easily played
Morrowind for 50 hours, and rather than getting bored, it
would be constant progress and growth. My cousin expected
Fable to hold up over weeks of play. But like warh0l said, I
guess the gamer, if he really wants to, can stretch that
playing period out by doing all the sidequests... still,
it's a pretty weak ''epic quest'' that only lasts 10 hours,
optional or not.

I'm still looking forward to it anyway... not everybody is
going to be satisfied with it.

heh. cleared it last night. and yes, your quite right,
extremely small game.

i mean, the options were there, however, i felt it was
really short and there wasn't much of a challenge at any
time within the game.

not 'epic'... far too easy. i should have done the side
quests.

this game gets like 6.5/10 from me.

i heard you can beat the last boss with the first weapon in
the game.. easily.

I just bought it last night, and I just put a couple of
hours into it, just finished up my training. So far, I
really like it... the game is gorgeous, progressive scan and
all, I love the colors. I do NOT expect it to last long, for
obvious reasons! But if it takes me 15-20 hours, I'll be
perfectly happy. That's a reasonable length (10 isn't). It
takes me longer than most people to get through games like
this because I usually do try to do all the side quests, if
I'm interested. Plus, I'm aiming for the most heroic and
pure character possible... so I've got a lot of work ahead
of me.

It's made a great first impression on me, and the criticisms
that everybody's heaping on it aren't things that bother me
all THAT much. You'll either be intrigued by the concept or
you won't... a lot of people don't seem to be doing to the
sidequests, just running through it. Maybe missing the
point? I'm not sure yet. Remains to be seen whether it'll
hold up for me, but I think it's gorgeous so far.

I also bought Sly Cooper 2- Band of Thieves last night...
that's even better. What a great platformer, a classic. PS2
owns all.

i wanted this game soooo bad. i was counting on it to
revitalize my interest in gaming. and now its out, and all
people say is its underwhelming. so my friend gets it, i go
over and play it for awhile. it sucks. everything is on
preset paths, it takes no time to beat, and its boring as
hell. i'm very disappointed.
but i've still got hope for jade empire.
