Dedbeat Festival

Phobiazero from Sweden on 2001-02-26 18:50 [#00000539]

Was anyone of you visiting the Dedbeat Festival?

TuneFish from T.O. on 2001-02-27 17:26 [#00000584]

I have found it on IDM-list (hope the author lets us to list
it here):

I was. Missed friday night, my girlfriend was too
tired/cold so we didn't
get the rephlex/snapper mega mega, ho hum. I was the bloke
wearing darkish
clothing with a little indian girl wearing a white hat.
Hmm. Got up on saturday to viberts daytime set, very nice
breakbeaty indeedy.
And what a lovely baby he has? I worry for its hearing. I
asked him for
Filthy Drummer on saturday night but he didn't have it with
him. Lovely
man though. I want to see the picture scruff did of his
baby, bet that
would be quite a collectors item. I will have to consult my
program to remember all the wonderful acts we saw,
but may I say a big thankyou to sam and all those involved
(should this
message somehow get to them) for a wonderfully well
organised event. I was
amazed there were no hitches for such a packed event, it was
really really
really good, everyone I have told is kicking themselves for
not getting
tickets 4 months ago like me. Mmm, planning.
Shame everyone was a bit tired for manuva/jeru/pharcyde/et
al. Apparently
Jeru had a big reception in Bristol the night before
(according to my mate
Rob) so perhaps was expecting more from the caned wasters he
found in
norfolk. We got to have a boogy with pharcyde in the
crowd, which was
nice. The saturday TLS marathon was a bit much for me,
only spent about 20
mins in that room in total. What was that Det/Skibadee track
Rae played, out of interest? It was
lovely.
Tata,

Tom.

Another report:

Hey there, another person proclaiming how amazing and
wonderful dedbeat was. If anyone else was there, I was the
guy in the blue/red Groover t-shirt, dancing
like a lunatic to Vibert's superb 4-6 set. The swordsmen
were wicked, although I was pretty spaced early on, and
Depth Charge played an amazing Knight Rider electro tune on
the Friday.
I saw Aphex at Dedbeat. I saw him arrive in a funky
state. His late set from 4 am was about as chaotic as it
gets, so I didn't stay too long. Next day he played in the
games room(pool hall), which was 10x better. Much more
chilled electro, but I couldn't actually see him as the
place was so rammed.
Oh, and the security guard who MC'd over Vibert, was okay
to a point, then his ego got in the way and he became
annoying. It must be said though, the security were superb.
No problems with drugs=no violence, the rest of society
should take a hint. To all the casualties who were dead
around the dancefloor, you missed out!!!!

Till next time, Wez (deadlyfish@yahoo.co.uk)

Word up beat heads...............Dedbeat 2002 : 22-23-24
Feb. Norfolk. 'The enchanted trailer park (0_o) '
( ( ( LET THE BASS ROCK ) ) )
February is in town and the weather is taxing, New Years Eve
will more than likely an extortionate let down and its three
months until summer. Dedbeat has the antidote – an honest
party that alleviates depressed souls, sticks one finger up

might be chilling but we wont be cold. We’ll be indoors,
warm and busting moves.

Following on from the sold out 2001 success we have a fresh
format to make you choke at. Expect some very appealing, and
down right obscenely quality new additions to this line up,
