i don't think getting out helps. my friend is quite social,
but very naive. i don't think there's a cure except to stop
being a dumb ass

I think "worldly experience" is just well-disguised
bitterness and cynicism most of the time.

perhaps naive is not the right expression here...i can
usually judge characters quite good, but i often let them
take advantage of me...i must stop doing that.

It's been shown that having a negative attitude or being in
a bad mood results in a more accurate perception of reality.

you mean im easily persuaded?
someone called me naive yesterday - naive towards some
people i have trouble with. and then this same person who
calls me naive, tries to fool me in a way. and instead of me
saying something i rather just not talk about it.

i wish that too...and thank you for your kind words.
i think very highly of you too, sir.

as for "stay as you arre" part; it's starting to really hurt
my life, this being naive thing...i just need to stop
letting people take advantage of me...in a non rude way
ofcourse :)

yeah, it can be a hindrrance at times, it's the same at
worrk, i end up getting finished late because i can't say
'no' even when i should orr when otherr people would. i
don't think therre is anything you can do about it, at least
not in the long terrm, not if it's just not in you.

i strongly feel you're right about that...if i wasn't able
to change till now, i doubt there's much i can do in the
future. our only hope now is, to wait for other poeple to
change for better.

yes, i believe there is definately a difference between
standing up for yourself, and being an arsehole.

standing up for yourself = good

being an arsehole = not so good

Tolstoyed dont worry about it. Naive is being removed from
the Oxford English Dictionary as of 1-1-2005.

How hairy is your chest? Is it like a Chia Pet? If so,
you've got potential. If not, well... I dunno.

Shouldn't give a shit anyway, there's nothing wrong with
being the kind of person you are. The people/preson that
called you naive are not God and are not all knowing. Shrug
it off. You'll take bumps and bruises for not being
particularly assertive, but it will pay off in the long run,
I can assure you. Someone out there somewhere, even it you
don't know it, appreciates the aura about you that others
misdiagnose as ''naivety''.

when i'm not sure whether i should take something literally
or not, see implicit things into a phrase/sentence or not,
or believe something hard to believe or not, very often i
take the naive way.

i prefer naivety to cynism.
