I think 0 Degrees has hidden frequencies designed to deafen
you.

He's better than Plaid like I'm better than Scott Walker,
though.

i like " +/- " by him... minimal, "pure", sounds like a
doctor's machine to test your audition or something like
that, might turn people crazy but beautiful! = )

you might want to check Nerve Net Noise too, it's a japanese
duo making some weird "music" generated by their own
synthesizers (they program them, and let them run on their
own, only modifying very slightly sometimes...) - definitely
not for everyone (well, as is Ryoji Ikeda!) but i like it as
well.

(and of course, Bernhard Günter/stuff by Trente Oiseaux
label but i'm recommending this all the time, people must be
getting bored of it ^^)

which ones do you recommend, apart from +/- ?

i was thinking of getting Op, but it was out of print

Op is good. Like minimal classical music

get Cyclo, and 0101001010010, maybe also Matrix. these are
the best, tho i have all of them for discography purposes.

well, its all about way of creating music, than music
itself, and the instrumentary isnt changing, at least its
hard to notice this. only comparable artists i know is alva
noto, but its different- alva has some minimal rhythm,
while ruoji isnt making any specific patterns.

oh, and Sachiko M too. i like her (even though i only have
collaborations by her).... i have one I.S.O. "live"
recording in a temple, which is really beautiful, i love to
play it at night = )

thanks!

Carsten Nicolai does similar things too under different
names. I believe the "cyclo" project was a collaboration
between him and Ryoji Ikeda.

I liked the idea of matrix where on one of the discs
contained constant sinuswaves which bounce off the walls in
a room and the listeners could create their own modulations
by walking around or turning their heads. I think it's the
same thing as when you have 2 oscillators in a synth and you
detune one slightly you get this beating effect only this is
more interesting because of the room's accoustics.
