because i want to use some of those m4a in a mix and the mix
program aint reading them.
i found a prog (foobar2000) that converted them to wav's so
problem solved :))

yeah earthleakage s right, if you do that youll lose a lot

m4a is an AAC file, most probably encoded using iTunes

download db power amp converter. And go to codec central
and install mp4 codec. but first the converter. hope it
helps :)
