FSOL - Lifeforms

Archrival on 2002-01-20 18:32 [#00072579]

I just copped this classic piece of music (I have thought
about buying this for a long long time). I heard people
comparing this with SAW2 so I thought that this must be a
masterpiece...and what can I say...yes it is definitly a
beautiful ambient album.

I got to put this album in my "classic albums" list. I mean
this album was originally released in 94 (me think) and it
still sounds fresh.

Go buy this if you havent already, you wont be
dissapointed.

Yall agree?

Yah its not too bad I agree..... may not like it as much as
you seem to but hey, each to his own right?

I bought the Lifeforms remix disc- 7 tracks, orange cover...
one of my all-time favorites! fucking amazing! listening
in the sweet spot reveals this virtual surround shit that
makes me happy as a little school girl.... soooo good.....

dead cities is really more diverse than lifeforms. i think i
like dead cities more, just for tracks like my kingdom and
her face for in the summertime...or quagmire.
i love future sound of london

Tropa on 2002-01-21 11:00 [#00072881]

fsol are releasing a new Amorphous Androgynous album this
year. It's called Galaxial Pharmaceutical and I think it's
going to be psychedelic rock or something. Check out
http://www.futuresoundoflondon.com/shop/galaxial.html

The Lifeforms video album is pretty cool as well...some of
the CGI stuff is a little dated but it does work really well
with the music...

Tho not as good as the Stakker EuroTechno video they did
back in the very early 90's...I'm still gutted I managed to
lose my copy; I've never seen it in the shops or anywhere
since :(... (FSOL were also responsible for Stakker HUMANOID
.. one of the best of the early UK Acid tracks)...

doki from grmny on 2002-01-21 12:45 [#00072927]

is that lifeforms video thingy still to get anywhere?

Archrival on 2002-01-21 12:46 [#00072931]

seen it.

About:
"Archrival on 08:10 01/21/2002
Yeah I got dead cities and its their best."

I agree, I love Future Sound of London and I think Dead
Cities is their best album.
I find Life Forms very similiar to ISDN and both album
released in 1994.
If you like Life Forms listen ISDN, too.

You can view it on their website www.futuresoundoflondon.com
...

Their shop isn't open at the mo so don't know whether it's
for sale there..you can browse the store but I can't see it
there...

It was odd looking at their site as I was amazed at how much
FSOL I've got; I never really listen to 'em anymore so might
well ebay 'em soon...I've still got an original Stakker
Humanoid 7" + 12" somewhere and I guess some of their early
CDs are possibly worth a bit nowadays (altho you can still
buy most of em new at Amazon etc..)...

Paco on 2002-01-22 19:48 [#00073660]

ISDN is more hip hop beats and is nothing like Lifeforms.

'Eggshell' has this awesome electronic synth line.
'Omnipresence' has the most excellent bass. 'Among Myselves'
is just weird and scary at first, but goes into a fantastic
pulsing after the intro. Listen to the wet fart in the intro
with the volume way up :)
