I don't own any portable audio device, but like many of you (I assume) I almost always have music playing in my head..
..now what's interesting to probe is the fact that it is nearly consistently synchronized with my stride, and of course matching my mood etc.
so this turns into a chicken-egg quandary--how much does my speed alter to line up with the beat? How much am I selecting the music according to the already extant pace? It's funny to think that this dorky internal loop is altering my exterior behavior, but it definitely is so.
Pancake lizard was the brain music a few minutes before entering my apartment, I wonder if I'm damaging my right leg since it always took the strong beats whereas the left was a weak subordinate.

the music in my head doesn't always reflect my mood, although it may affect it.

It _has_ to reflect your mood to some extent. It is generated by your mind, which has your mood as part of its working state--there is no clean separation in there.

well no, it can just get stuck in there because I heard it being hummed by someone else. I've had times where I desperately needed to abolish a track from my head.
